NGG Black Betty
HuacayaOpen (Female)True Black
AOA# 186813DOB: 6/6/1997
Our search for a female appaloosa for Enchanted Hill led us to the Delphi website a long time ago. There we learned about a striking appy by the name of Stella Nova. Unfortunately, Stella had been sold. However, we continued to watch the Delphi site and admired Black Betty (Stella’s dam) and Avatar, the stunning Delphi herdsire. When Betty became available, bred to Avatar, we just had to act! And act we did!
Betty's '06 cria, sired by Avatar, is a well-fibered, conformationally correct light brown female who will remain as an integral part of the Enchanted Hill herd. Betty was bred to Derwydd Peruvian Novio for a fall '07 cria that was a spectacular true black male.
Betty is a full sister to Penumbra, a Delphi herdsire, who may be viewed on the Delphi AN page. She is half Accoyo Peruvian, from a fine fleeced dark silver gray mom. She's a good sized, well conformed girl, with extremely dense, crimpy fiber. Betty is a trouble free mom, getting pregnant easily, and having lots of milk.
In 2002, Betty produced Stella Nova, who sold at the 2003 Alpaca Futurity Auction in Indianapolis. Betty's 2003 cria is a phenomenal true black boy, Oracle, with extremely fine true black fleece (18.2 microns at 1 year of age). Her 2004 Avatar daughter, Disa, is a gorgeous red girl that sold at 3 months of age. Disa is also extremely fine, with extremely dense crimpy fleece. Betty's 2005 cria is a white Presidio son who will remain as a future herdsire at Delphi.
October '08 update: Betty produced a gorgeous female rose grey cria, and is now rebred to Avatar's Avery for a fall '09 cria. She is still for sale but will not be able to move to her new herd until March '09.
October '09 update: Just like clockwork, Betty produced a medium brown female at 10 months, 3 weeks. See Oh My Gosh in the sales list.
May '11 update: Betty had a fawn male and is ready to breed.
