PATAGONIA'S ERNESTO: Patagonia’s Ernesto is a magnificent light brown compact herdsire that improves every dam to her fullest potential. Before I purchased Ernesto, I bred numerous females to this dynamic male just to see what he could do. I discovered that I could take an average dam, breed her to Ernesto, and voila, he would produce a stunning offspring. This feat was proven when we had hundreds of the females assessed with their juvenile crias. Time and time again, the cria scored better than the dam so I knew I had something special going on with this male and one way to obtain improvement in the production of our breeding program. In many ways, Patagonia’s Ernesto has surpassed his one of a kind sire, Patagonia’s Lennox, and what Lennox has been able to achieve in his life-time. Ernesto’s dam, R&RR Irishea, is a light fawn from Ruth and Rodney Elvestad’s Canadian breeding program whose goal was to have lasting fine fleece, yet have the fleece to be the ultimate in density as well. Ruth operates Olds College in Canada working with fiber. Irishea is out of one of my very favorite males, CAVA Guivar Zorro, a true black import. He has many good breeding years left and would love to have the opportunity to prove it! AVACANTERRA 22U Canterra's sire is R&RR Maximus 077P, a black grandson of Kelowna's Salute to Cuzco. Her paternal grandsire is R&R Alder 097L, one of the main herdsires at R & R Alpacas for many years. Offspring: Canterra gave us a lovely medium brown female cria out of Forbes 50T, on August 5, 2012. Canterra gave birth to a pretty light brown female out of Valkyrie of PVA, on 12/3/2013. Canterra presented us with a beautiful dark brown female out of Patagonia's Ernesto, on 7/1/2015. Her daughter, ESTATES KILEY, won 2nd Place at the 2017 MAPACA Jubilee-Performance; 3rd Place at the 2017 Small Breeders Jubilee, and 3rd Place at the 2016 PAOBA Breeders Showcase. Canterra gave birth to a pretty true black female sired by 10x champion Patagonia's Antonio, on 9/7/18.
