WT Nicodemus
HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn, Medium Fawn
AOA# 31142076DOB: 6/17/200915 yrs
Nico has to be the loudest appaloosa I have ever seen. Its not that he yells alot it has to do with his pattern. Most appaloosas have a beige base and fawn spots. Nico's pattern seems that the fawn spots have taken over most of his body. I love it. I just do not have enough females on my farm to give him the work he needs.
He has a great fleece for his age. He has some guard hair on his chest but his blanket is very nice. That is a trait we are very interested in Illini Alpacas. Its easy for a male to look good at 1 or 2 years old. Show me one at 8 years old. or older. About his conformation. I feel his legs are a tad bit too long for the proportion of his body. That said, breeding him to a solid female should improve that in one generation. Whereas trying to breed out guard hair in a blanket can take 3 generations or more. He is a proven male, having a brown male cria early in his years. He had a break out last year and his first cria on our farm is due the first week of December.
His price reflects his age. After he has an appaloosa cria his price will increase. There are not many appaloosa herdsires for sale out there so take advantage of this opportunity!
***If you are interested in breeding harlequins, Nico can be used in that program. A harlequin is a appaloosa with a black gene. If you breed Nico to a black dam, you have the possibility of producing harlequin. This is how I bred Adam's Mark. His sire, Leo, is appy and his dam is my black girl, Sara. If you are interested in producing harlequins, this may be an option for you.
