DERWYDD FORTUNATO LUCIANO

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Silver Grey
AOA# 30649965DOB: 2/2/200717 yrs
Fortunato Luciano is a beautifully soft and dense Light Silver Grey male with a uniform fleece, great handle and a regal show ring presence. His staple length growth at 15 months was .36 mm/day and the length was 125 mm. This boy fills out! His first sheering histogram MFD was 19.7. He started his show career with a Blue Ribbon at the 2007 Northern Illinois Alpaca Extravaganza LSG Halter Class at only 8 Months old and another Blue at the Great Midwest Alpaca Festival in Madison WI. in 2008. His sire is EL R Peruvian Luciano, a Medium Silver Grey 2006 Get-Of-Sire Champion on the West Coast. His dam is a 1/2 Accoyo Vicuna-colored girl out of Accoyo Grand Master. This makes Fortunato Luciano a Full Alianza-Accoyo Peruvian. If you're looking for elite greys then these are the grey genetics you want in your herd.

Nico has to be the loudest appaloosa I have ever seen. Its not that he yells alot it has to do with his pattern. Most appaloosas have a beige base and fawn spots. Nico's pattern seems that the fawn spots have taken over most of his body. I love it. I just do not have enough females on my farm to give him the work he needs. He has a great fleece for his age. He has some guard hair on his chest but his blanket is very nice. That is a trait we are very interested in Illini Alpacas. Its easy for a male to look good at 1 or 2 years old. Show me one at 8 years old. or older. About his conformation. I feel his legs are a tad bit too long for the proportion of his body. That said, breeding him to a solid female should improve that in one generation. Whereas trying to breed out guard hair in a blanket can take 3 generations or more. He is a proven male, having a brown male cria early in his years. He had a break out last year and his first cria on our farm is due the first week of December. His price reflects his age. After he has an appaloosa cria his price will increase. There are not many appaloosa herdsires for sale out there so take advantage of this opportunity! ***If you are interested in breeding harlequins, Nico can be used in that program. A harlequin is a appaloosa with a black gene. If you breed Nico to a black dam, you have the possibility of producing harlequin. This is how I bred Adam's Mark. His sire, Leo, is appy and his dam is my black girl, Sara. If you are interested in producing harlequins, this may be an option for you.

Description

We call her Susie. Although she is not an appaloosa, she does have a spotting pattern that has grey genetics as its base. Her fiber is very fine and soft. She is originally from Michigan. Not being accustomed to our St Louis heat with being bred (that was a surprise), she had a premature cria last year that did not survive. Then, yes there is more, we moved to a new farm in Jan this year (2017) and Nico found a way into the girl pasture and settled Susie in one breeding. She is due in Dec. Since we have only appaloosa males on our farm, even breakout breedings are appy breedings.
