We are pleased to announce that we now co-own "Siggy" with Ed and Karen Rogers of Apple Tree Acres Alpacas. Being able to co-own this outstanding young gray stud is certainly a great way to start 2007! Siggy is a 1/2 Accoyo, 3/4 Peruvian, Light Silver Grey son of legendary PPPeruvian Royal Fawn and a Dam with 4 generations of Gray behind her. Out of 290+ cria from Royal Fawn, Siggy is the only silver gray offspring. Siggy has outstanding fleece characterized by excellent fineness, density, and crimp. His uniform gray color extends throughout his blanket. Winning the 2006 AOBA National Fleece Show gray Color Championship attests to the fleece quality. His pleasing conformation is highlighted by good balance, an outstanding head and great coverage. Sig's first cria has hit the show circuit with 3 shows - 1 Championship and 2 Reserve Championships!

Most appaloosa herds are built. Well...unless you have about $100,000+ to go out and buy one. Even then, there aren't alot of them for sale out there. To start building one, pick out one or two and start breeding/building. Wait, this is starting to sound like a blog post. So much to say about this guy. Confetti is a rare line of appaloosa. I *think* he is his own line of appaloosa. I believe he inherited the gene from his dam. And he is not doing bad for a 'pop-up' appaloosa. They all had to start somewhere, right? And he is producing right at 50% for passing on those spotty genes. When he produces spots, boy does he produce spots! We have had him for 4 years now, before we got him he produced 3 solid crias from 3 solid dams and 2 spotted ones from one solid dam and one appy dam. Enchanted Hill Icon and Enchanted Hill Appy-Go-Lucky, respectively. When Confetti hits the target, he hits it out of the ballpark! On our farm, we have retained every cria he has sired. We are a small farm so the numbers are not large, but that adds to the fact that he retains a rare bloodline that can be used on every appaloosa farm out there. We have 4 female cria. Two daddy look a likes out of a black dam, one classic appaloosa out of a classic dam, and one white out of a white dam. This fall his first cria for us, Bijou, had an appaloosa female cria that is utterly gorgeous, Black Opal. Confetti is a compact male, full Peruvian, with good bone. He is excellent on lead. I can go out into the pasture and halter him, tie him to a post and trim his toenails by myself. His genetics are over 60% of my female herd now and I need to diversify my bloodlines a little. I do not have a genetic tree going, its more like a stick but its a very nice stick. :) Oh! and he can produce elite fleeced alpacas. His cria out of Chiquita last year, Rita, just tested at 14.7 micron for her cria fleece! Interested in raising appaloosas? Confetti can put you in that direction. Confetti likes apples. Confetti likes cucumbers. And Confetti really likes that his pasture is next to the garden.

Description

Sara is a foundation female at Illini Alpacas. Although she appears black, she is more of a black and mahogany similar to a black and tan. Whatever color she is, she produces appaloosas! Adam's Mark is one of her crias. Bijou is one of her crias. Pippi is one of her crias. Her cria from this year appears to be colored like her, black and mahogany. She is bred for a 2018 cria to Confetti.
