Johnny Bravo is that dark silver grey male that I had been looking for all along. It took me awhile to find him, but boy, better late than never! Purchased in-utero by his original owner, Johnny is the product of Crescent Moon's elite breeding program. His sire, Crescent Moon's Donato, is a 10x champion, including the futurity, and Johnny is his first offspring. As a son of the great ATV Adonnis, and out of a maroon daughter of Camilio, Donato's excellence is no fluke. He is passing it, along with his grey coloring, on to his offspring with great reliability. Johnny's dam, Crescent Moon's Morning Glory, represents a unique blend of elite genetics. Her dam is Nasahuento's Poppy, making her maternal half-sister to the legendary Rayo Del Sol. Her sire, Crescent Moon's Kryptonite, is a rare true black son of Legacy, who has proven his ability to produce the extreme fineness that made his sire a legend -- only in black and grey. Johnny carries the awesome type, total coverage, and beautiful headstyle that I want to see in an alpaca. He is an ideal size -- not too tall, but very stocky, with an excellent spring of rib to accompany his fantastic bone. His conformation is excellent. I already mentioned the head, but it's so great that I need to mention it again -- his head rocks. Excellent density, brightness, and a beautiful crimp style characterize this guy's fleece. He is not lacking in the area of fineness, either, as his first fleece carried an AFD of 17.7; his second had an AFD of 18.8 and a comfort factor of 95.9%. His coloring is one of my absolute favorites -- a dramatic, extremely dark silver grey with swirls and spots of light. Well, Johnny's first six cria have arrived, and while they are all gorgeous -- beautiful heads, great coverage, big bone and bright, bright fleeces -- not one of them is grey. We are aiming for quality, to be sure, but we are exclusively grey breeders here, so sadly, Johnny isn't going to get much work here the way our program is structured. He's never been bred to grey, so a grey breeder who is willing to take a chance on him might get a killer deal. Otherwise, I'm happy to have him hang out -- he is some serious eye candy.

Glacier Rock's Princess Leia

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Fawn

The biggest problem with a female of Princess Leia's caliber is that it is difficult to find a male who will not bring her down in quality. Never mind "improvement" -- with Leia, I will be thrilled if she just clones herself! It is probably evident to anyone who has reviewed our program that I am very, very fond of Princess Leia's sire line. Her sire, Hidden Hill Peruvian Pundit, ranks among the most prepotent alpacas that I know of. He was, in fact, the very first elite alpaca that I ever beheld, and the sole reason that I originally chose to take the leap from "hobby breeder" to "serious breeder" -- I wanted to own and produce alpacas that looked like that. ... Not only does Pundit look like THAT, but his offspring do too -- I knew very little of alpacas then, but I could still pick them out without fail. Then, there is Leia's dam line. 588 Peruvian Lancaster is likewise one prepotent dude. His get have consistently inherited fineness, density, character, and a solid body build. The cross of Peruvian Lancaster and either Dually or Pundit has proven to consistently produce outstanding alpacas. In horse breeding, this is called either a "nic" or a "magic cross," depending on your horse breed, and it's a very well-known phenomenon -- certain sire and dam lines can be counted on to produce awesomeness, and it appears that the combination of either of these full brothers with a Lancaster daughter is one of those crosses. Leia's dam, Louisa, is not simply a Lancaster daughter, however. She is one of the most fantastic Lancaster daughters ever produced. She wasn't shown much, so she never got much of a chance to shine. However, her fleece has been evaluated by top breeders as being unbelievably fine. Her type and body build are ideal. She has a calm disposition, and best of all, she passes all of these fantastic traits on to her cria. So, that brings is to Leia herself. Leia is very compact, but beautifully proportioned, with a broad spring of rib and good body depth. She has good bone and an absolutely ideal head. Her coverage is excellent. She has a marvelous, outgoing disposition. And she has Holy Moses That's Amazing fleece. The photographs do not do justice to the high-frequency, high-amplitude crimp, which is consistent throughout her blanket and onto her neck. The histogram does not adequately convey the incredible softness, not even a 14.9 micron AFD. Her brightness is incredible, to the eye and to the hand. Leia produced an absolutely stunning true black male in 2016. Sadly, things did not work out with him. We will be anxiously awaiting her 2017 cria.

Description

**SALE PENDING** This little one is special. In fact, in many ways, I can't believe I'm even listing her for sale, for a few reasons. For one thing, her sire is sold, and his genetics are not captured on our farm. For another thing, her dam is one of my absolute BEST and favorite females. Plus, she's got a story. That said, I have a pretty firm commitment not to keep back any of our production that aren't grey or pattern, so here she is. Bravo Leia got her name not only because it's a nice mesh of both parents, but because it sums up my feelings about this little one's existence: "Bravo, Leia!" ... You see, her dam, Princess Leia wanted nothing to do with her first cria, and she seemed uncertain as to whether she wanted to let this second one nurse. So, when she finally did sort it out, it felt like a miracle: A dam that was once on of my favorites, then on ice, went back up to "favorite" status. Bravo, Leia! This little one got an amazing head, courtesy of both parents, perfect conformation, and a very soft-handling, super-bright fleece. She will be able to do great things for someone. Bravo!
