Accoyo America Tempest

If you are serious about breeding alpacas to meet the demands of a large-scale American fiber industry, then you should seriously consider breeding your females to Accoyo America Tempest! At 7 years of age, his fiber was judged at the International Alpaca. Odyssey to excel with those attributes most important to the fiber industry: Retention of fineness, and uniformity of micron, length, and architecture! Accoyo America Tempest is a male cast in his VERY famous father's image (Nautilus). The award-winning offspring that Nautilus has produced comprise a "Who's Who" of the Alpaca Industry [ Accoyo America Typhoon, Sinbad, Apocalypse, and Shanghai, to name just a few..] and his dam is no slouch either, producing Tempest’s full brother Typhoon – who sold for a whopping $100,000 at the 2006 Parade of Champions sale. Tempest has a stunningly bright fleece with high frequency, low amplitude crimp. Long, long staple length, exceedingly organized and consistent.. His 2008 (13 1/2 months old) fleece had a stunning AFD of 15.5 and an SD of 3.5..WOW… The results of his skin biopsy (Watt) are just in and they are EXCELLENT!! At 43 months: Density 63/mm2, Secondary:Primary fiber ratio: 13.3:1 Primary fiber diameter 23.9 Secondary fiber diameter 15.9. Ian Watt points out that, "he has an excellent fiber population differential of only 8 microns. ...a superior fiber for a near four year old working male. " BREAKING NEWS: For 2011 Tempest sheared 15 pounds total, with a blanket weight of 4.9 pounds!! And, in 2014 two of his crias in Idaho had AFDs of 14.3 and 14.4 at 11 months of age! These fleece characteristics are a tribute to his rare and elite Cconchatanca genetics. The legendary Hemingway, (Tempest's grandsire) and Tempest's dam, Diana, both came from the fabled Cconchatanca herd (see Mike Safley's article about this at the Northwest Alpacas website), said to have vicuna interbreeding dating to the mid-19th century. With the Peruvian/Shining Path uprising of the late 20th century, these genetics were lost to Peru, and those of us who have Cconchatanca alpacas in the US consider ourselves fortunate, indeed. Tempest has a level topline, excellent leg set, good bone, medium frame and carries fleece from his very nice topknot all the way down. This is a male who will retain his fineness and to whom you want to breed for ultra-fine, bright fleeces with high frequency crimp, advanced bundling architecture, and consistency. ***My Dream Came True!! Tempest took 1st in Get of Sire competition--over 4 other males, several of whom have "Get" wins to their credits. This was "real" competition! AND his cria took Reserve Champion! AND it just gets better--Tempest was awarded 2 Champion Banners in Commercial Fleece at the International Alpaca Odyssey in 2014--for "Best Retention of Fineness" and for the "Grand Champion Commercial Huacaya Fleece". His daughter, Rockstar's Twisted Sister, took RC at the 2016 Futurity and CC + Best Head at

Derwydd Manchu's Kusa

"Kusa's FULL SISTER, just sold at the 2011 AOBA National auction for $16,500.00 - OWN the SAME GENETICS at a 75% DISCOUNT!!" Manchu’s Kusa is our very first cria out of 8x Champion Derwydd Accoyo Manchu. We could not have been more pleased with her. In her very first show at 9 mos old she swept up the White Championship at AlpacaMania 2009!! The judge acknowledged she was the densest female, with the longest staple growth, excellent capacity for such a young female and quite the overall package! Her sire Accoyo Manchu is a dense, 8-time champion we co-own with Accoyo America. Manchu's dam Accoyo Puncha was hand selected for us by Dr Juilo Sumar in the last importation from Peru in 1998. Julio said to us "this one, she is the one you want, FIRST, of all the alpacas here", so we did exactly as Julio said and she was our first pick and still to this day the BEST pick out of that importation. Her dam Chipana is a ½ Accoyo Legacy daughter with stunning fleece (22 afd at 6 years old and shearing ~10lbs at 6 yrs old and 3 crias!) and a championship in her own right.. With 2 Champion daughters – including Qispiqay, with well-aligned consistent fleece on solid compact frames with substantial bone and fleece to their toes. Consistent Production! Kusa has a lovely head, solid bone, fleece to her toes and a well-balanced frame. Her fleece is eye popping bright white, with well aligned bundling in the blanket and consistent style throughout. Kusa's full sister Qispiqay is following in her footsteps winning Color Champion in her first THREE shows last fall - her 1/2 sister Suyana took the Reserve Color Championship right behind Qispiqay in all 3 shows!. Demonstrated Pedigree Performance! Kusa is currently confirmed pregnant to Accoyo American Tempest.. Tempest is a male cast in his VERY famous fathers image (Nautilus).. and the winning cria that Nautilus has produced is a "Who's Who" of the Alpaca Industry [Accoyo America Sinbad, Typhoon, Apocalypse, Shanghai, to name just a few..] - This Accoyo, Hemingway/Accoyo cross will be excellent with the joining of 2 of Accoyo America's BEST dams.. (Accyo Sunipani and Accoyo Sicuani) - with a very distant gentle Caligula line breed. We expect to see an REALLY nicely fleeced alpaca out of this breeding. Kusa sells with an additional breeding to any Derwydd herdsire while resident at Derwydd including her sire Manchu (just send us a another female to collect the breedback) Free transport in the US. Full Peruvian; 3/4 Accoyo – SOLID BONE – DENSE!

Description

She has fine-fibered white fleece that shows high-frequency crimp. Her heritage includes Peruvian Hemingway, 4Peruvian Legacy and Derwydd El Nino's Accoyo Manchu. With this background, she should produce exceptional white cria. Although, when bred to color, she will throw color (we have her daughter who is light rose gray). On more than one occasion, she has cushed at the gate and allowed and allowed children to have their hands all over her. She would also make a good family-oriented pet.
