Since then, his fleece has maintained its length and fineness and he remains one of the best grey males in the country. If you have a look at his Watt follicle testing results, the reasons will be obvious. The mix of black and white fibers in his grey is homogeneous in micron. He is the only alpaca, male or female, that carries the best characteristics of the Snowmass Peruvian Casanova and Guns n Roses lines. His production has not disappointed with multiple championships among his offspring. Donatello is a Kit Carson son out of the revered and now deceased Snowmass Silver Star who gave Renaissance Ridge Alpacas Snowmass Star Matrix, mom to RR Touchstone, the national brown fleece champ in 2015. Donnatello carries the strong conformation of both his parents with a very superior handle and uniformity to his fleece. This is commendable in any color, but is particularly notable with a grey. He has delivered offspring with the same excellent conformation and fineness. Sire, Kit Carson has a histogram of 22.5/ 4.0/ 17.6 and a comfort factor of 96.1% at age 6. Dam, Silver Star was still 23 micron at age 10! I purchased this herdsire from Renaissance Ridge two years ago as the foundation of my breeding program. I have since decided not to continue breeding alpacas in order to focus on my food production career with sheep and cattle. Some lucky buyer is going to score big based on my change of heart.
