Kanata is a great looking true black male with very fine fibre. We hope he will take after his dam, Malinus Ben who at the age of 7 years still held a 21.8 micron count. Kanata has a great black background -his sire is the well known Fibre Works Technicolour. "He has correct conformation, a good square body, and full legs. Kanata has very uniform fibre; he is covered from head to toe." These are the comments from the judge at the Alpaca Ontario Show 2011 where he placed 2nd out of 11 entries. Kanata's yearling fibre won 1st Place in the Mary-Ann English Spin Off 2013 with a score of 91/100 points. One point less than the Overall Winner of the Black Class. Kanata started his breeding career in 2012. He bred a dark silver grey who produced a stunning true black female, the other breeding was to a dark rose grey and she produced a beautiful rose grey female. The owner of both dams was very impressed with the crias, and rebred his dams to Kanata again in 2013. Again he was very pleased to have two females, a rose grey and a black. We too are very pleased with our Kanata crias, from 2014 he sired three males, a silver grey, a medium brown and a true black. Kanata sired a beautiful true black female, S'mores in 2015. All the females he has bred have been grey. We already have EPD data for Kanata and he has quite respectable numbers. AFD -1.170, SDAFD -0.412 and %F>30 -4.149. If you are looking for a male to lower your fineness and add uniformity to your fleece this guy will do it. He will even add a bit of staple length.

KBAR'S Yazhi

HuacayaOpen (Female)Bay Black
AOA# 32185089, CLAA# 42509DOB: 8/8/201113 yrs
Yazhi's first cria was a beautiful bay black male - Black Ball, sired by Reflection. Yazhi's second cria is a crimpy bay black female - Peace, sired by Khan. This cria has great fibre. She is also probably the most independent cria we have ever had. For 2017 Yazhi was bred to our up and coming herdsire - Truly Blessed Eh! This was TB's first breeding and they produced a lovely bay black female - Truly Cute. Yazhi seems to pick the cria's colour, her 2018 male cria is another beautiful bay black, sired by our terrific silver grey herdsire Amirror. Yazhi is a very special alpaca and probably Carolyn's favourite female alpaca. Until she was bred Yazhi was the first alpaca to greet our farm visitors. She is still extremely calm and laid back, nothing seems to bother her. We have taken Yazhi to visit a couple of the local nursing homes; the residents were just delighted with her. Yazhi was often stubborn about leaving as she loved the attention. She has also attended Reading Club at two local libraries and the Flesherton Farmer's Market. We hope she passes on this personality to her crias. Now Yazhi is content to stay at home with the other moms. Yazhi's black fibre is very dense and very soft. Her cria fleece was wavy, her second fleece had a much more defined crimp to it. Yazhi means "little one" in Navajo, she weighed 15.4 lbs at birth, the smallest of our crias that year. She is still a bit smaller than the others.

Description

Tynata's fibre looks like black velvet. Tynata delivered her first cria June 9, 2020, a beautiful medium grey male named Tyrone, sired by Prince. He has the best personality, also beautiful fibre. For her 2021 cria we bred her to Kameron The Grey and they produced a stunning grey male - Kanata the Grey. Tynata is not CLAA registered but can be.
