AOBA Champ PRODUCES CHAMPION CRIAS!!

Saber's Red Storm Rising

SuriHerdsire (Male)Medium Brown
DOB: 11/19/200717 yrs
We are thrilled to have Saber's Red Storm Rising at our ranch in Marin County, Alpacas of Marin. This is a truly magnificent male with locking and luster that cannot be believed! His conformation is stunning and so are his championship crias. He has won SIX TOP LEVEL CHAMPIONSHIPS, including an AOBA color championship!! (Those are "level 5" Championships...TOUGH Competition...) And Red Storm's Crias are now winning! Red Storm completed his show career with a Reserve Color Fleece Champion at Nationals 2010... Red Storm's sire, Meadowgate Peruvian Saber, took the 2010 Reserve Suri Herdsire of the Year" award. His dam, Miss Nina, has produced numerous champions. We fully expected this beautiful young Saber son to live up to his potential, and he has not disappointed us. June 2009 Update: Red Storm does it again...winning the COLOR CHAMPIONSHIP Banner at the AOBA/NATIONALS! AND Red Storm Rising won the JUDGE'S CHOICE Championship at the Buckeye Show in Columbus, Ohio. He competed against ALL the Male Color Champions for this prestigious award. This phenomenal medium brown male is 1/4 Accoyo and boasts his Accoyo lineage from Baron and Torbio, Red Storm Rising is the full brother to show winning Saber's Katana. She took Reserve Color in full fleece and also brought home the Reserve Color Champion ribbon from the 2008 National show with her fiber. Red Storm Rising was destined for the show ring with his fabulous luster, locks, coverage, presence and pedigree. Now he is doing equally well in the breeding pen, and that's what really counts--right?! Red Storm's sire has produced champion after champion. We are expecting the same incredible cria from Red Storm. And now, his offspring: Red Storm is the epitome of "prepotency"--passing on his outstanding characteristics to his offspring and now to the offspring of his offspring! His first cria, Curandero, ran away with multiple championships including Judge's Choice Fleece at the International Alpaca Odyssey. Curandero now has several "knock out" crias on the ground, who are beginning their show careers. Red Storm's second cria, Perfect Storm, again took several championships before being sold. HIs third cria, (true black out of a fawn dam) SoCal Sweet Crude, has 3 or 4 blue ribbons to her name.... Looks like Red Storm has "the right stuff", alright! And all his crias are either black, or darker than their dams. Red Storm is co-owned with SoCal Suri Alpacas and Tanglewood Suri Alpacas, and is at our North San Francisco Bay property, Alpacas of Marin. 50% Interest available to the right partner, and he is available for 100% purchase as well. Auction price is for full ownership.
  Medium Brown
Dam: SoCal Balboa's Pilar

Re-bred to sire of fabulous first cria!

SoCal Balboa's Pilar

SuriBred (Female)Dark Silver Grey, Bay Black
DOB: 2/8/20159 yrs
Pilar is technically "indefinite dark" in color--regular distribution of white fibers on a black-based fleece. We think this will translate to silver grey genetics, because her dam is a MAPACA Light Silver Grey Champion and her sire is True Black multi-champion Balboa of PVA. But either way, she can produce outstanding dark crias, and she is an excellent mother. She has a medium frame--sturdy but feminine, and really excellent luster and locking. And did we mention that she has the perfect head that is the signature of her sire...AND fuzzy ears!! And Pilar has done well in the show ring, with 6 blue ribbons! So, we have a confession to make--we think our dogs played a major role in introducing Pilar to Red Storm, and our dogs are the matchmakers who are responsible for her outstanding first cria, Chispa. (We have very smart dogs.) But we are hopeful that her pregnancy after one exposure indicates that she will continue to be an easy breeder. Fingers crossed! PIlar is at our North San Francisco Bay area farm, Alpacas of Marin. CONGRATULATIONS! To Leanne and Richard Nakashima of Eldora Alpacas, who have purchased Pilar and her male cria at the Amber Autumn auction!!

Description

This is a very "showy" male. We think Chispa may be the best suri produced on our Marin County farm to date! Both his sire and dam have won raves from judges about their luster--and his sire is a 2-time AOBA Champion, "Best Lock" at AOBA, and Level 5 Judges' Choice winner. He catches your eye from a distance--Chispa's fleece sparkles in the sunlight. Chispa means "spark" or "sparkle" in Spanish, and our Chispa has a spark of energy and sparkling, shimmering fleece to boot! Chispa has locking to the skin and nice density--and he has grandsire, Balboa's perfect head. What a powerhouse of genetics! He starts his show career in Spring, 2018. Congratulations to Leanne and Richard Nakashima of Eldora Suri Alpacas who have purchased Chispa and his dam, Pilar, at the Amber Autumn Auction!!
