Quechua Radiance is quite a "head turner", or at least the judges seem to think so! His luminous fleece demonstrates extreme locking to the skin, and it drips with luster. His heritage is 3/4 Accoyo. Radiance has SOLID BONE structure and a perfect conformation. His dam, Q'orianka was legendary on the show circuit and she has been one of our best producers. Both she and his Accoyo sire bring density to Radiance, and we are thrilled to have their handsome son. Even at 4 years of age, on his 5th fleece, he glows in the barn more than any other male, and he has one of the best fleeces of any of our suris. Radiance has a compact, correct, sturdy conformation with BONE!! We have "deployed him" on larger girls, to bring down the cria size and it certainly worked with his first cria, Silken Radiance (his dam is very big!). Radiance has a trouble-free demeanor--not looking for trouble, but willing to stand up for himself. He has a rather "serious" personality, but is easy to handle and loves to be our example of beautiful luster and locking for visitors. When we prepared his fleece for competition--it truly took me about 10 minutes to adjust to the luster and "glare" of his fleece on our shady patio! Radiance's 2012 EPDs are excellent: AFD -0.9, %F>30:-3.4 (more below). and backing that up, his first cria has taken Color Champion at the 2014 International Alpaca Odyssey! It was such a pleasure to watch our girl, Marygold, develop into a lovely, densely-locked, lustrous yearling with good bone and excellent conformation. Her bloodlines are impressive--the legendary Sirius Black is her sire, and he brings in the pedigree of MacGyver and Bruxo. Her dam, Paiget of PVA, is a lustrous black Kobe daughter and she follows in the lines of Mahogany Prince. Marygold is an eye-catching medium fawn girl, but with black genetics from sire and dam, she can certainly produce darker offspring. She has had 4 crias--all uneventful pregnancies and deliveries, and she has been a great mom. Marygold has passed her very cute head to all of her crias--short muzzle, curly bangs. She has also passed on density and luster, and her quiet, reserved personality. This is a true quality animal! Marygold had a gorgeous rose grey/appy female by our AOBA champion, WWR Prince Greystone. Each of her 4 offspring have her curly bangs and lustrous fleece, good bite, and solid, well-balanced frame. Now she is spitting off to our "knock-out" True Black Futurity Reserve Champ, RGSA Coppola! Remember, both of Marygold's parents are black, so we're hoping for some dark color!!!
