June 28, 2015. Captain receives Black Male Color Champion and Black Male Reserve Champion at the 2015 AOA Nationals Fleece Show (with over 540 fleece entries). Wow!!!
This show stopper is just what we were looking for. Captain Midnight's black fleece exhibits extreme density, brightness and a zipper crimp usually seen in white fleeces. Oh, did I mention it's fine too?
Captain's sire, Black Midnight, has a highly advanced black fleece with excellent density and outstanding fleece character. Although Black Midnight did not like the show ring, he managed to obtain Multi Championship status including the 2010 Futurity. Captain's grandsire is the well known, multi-champion MFI Peruvian Jericho. Captain's genetics read like the who's who in the alpaca world and he stands proudly among them.

Let CVAF Zatanna cast a spell over you.
Imagine our surprise when Zatanna first entered this world - the product of 5C's Captain Midnight, a true black male and Quatrain's Nightengale, a lovely bay black. Never did we think that the product of this combination would be a light fawn.
However, Zatanna is also the product of two award winning alpacas, and she inherited great aspects from each side of the genetic tree, color aside. (And does that really matter?) She shows off a beautiful staple length, with lots of crimp, extremely fine and bright. If you look closely at her picture, you will see a black stripe across her nose. Willing to bet with her background, she will throw some nice color. UPDATE - Yup! She did. (See photo of Marvel)
Zatanna took a 1st place, in her first show, at the new BAY STATE SMALL BREEDERS SHOW.
Zatanna's first cria is a beautiful black male, sired by Stylish Enlightening and what a great mom she is. So far this little one shows all the magic from a great magician. We were anxious to show off this guy at the 2020 Spring shows, but of course that didn't happen. Perhaps this fall.
In the meantime, Zani has given us her 2nd cria - a beautiful black female sired by our own Shadow's Rockstar. She (Empire Rose) is a beauty!!!!
