With the retirement of Magical Farms we had an opportunity to purchase interest in this amazing male. We have one of his sons who has won 18 Championships to date. Why would we want Black Midnight too? Our Captain Midnight is from one of our favorite bloodlines. We have several females who are related to Captain, but not to Black Midnight. Do we want more Captain Midnights? You bet!!!! Call us to book your breeding to Black Midnight. On September 6th Colonel Midnight arrived. He's the full brother to our 18X banner winning 5C's Captain Midnight. This beautiful TB male is just as exciting as his award winning brother. So exciting that we plan to repeat the breeding for a 3rd time. Male or female, this combination just seems to be a real winner.
See the description more accolades of Black Midnight below.
With a pedigree that could knock off anyone's socks, LMFI Peruvian Black Midnight has the fleece to match!
His dam is Libby Forstner's famous 16-time champion black female champion LMFI Peruvian Black Pearl. His sire is MFI Peruvian Jericho, sire of the famous Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah. Jericho's offspring have won over 420 ribbons and over 120 championships and Jeremiah is just one of them.
Black Midnight has a highly-advanced black fleece with excellent density and outstanding fleece character. The only problem with Black Midnight is that he hates to show. At his first show, he surprised us by dragging his back leg as soon as he entered the show ring. In spite of that he earned third place at the Futurity because of his outstanding fleece. After the class, he trotted happily back to his pen, his leg just fine! At his second show, he continued the same antics, only this time dragging his other back foot and again, he was fine after the class. At his third show, he abandoned the leg-dragging tactic and instead chose the tactic of falling over in the show ring. In spite of this behavior, he won the Black Male Reserve Color Champion<--description-->
Description
Had to have this one on our roster of herdsires. His mother is the dam of the famous 10 x Champion Rumm Runner. Our plan is to cross this amazing finness and density with the consistency for our multi champion Malachi to produce show winning True Blacks. Malachi was chosen from 27 black males by Peter Kennedy as the black color champion of 2014. Midnight took 1st at Futurity and 1st and RC at the WI Alpaca and Fiber Festival in 2016.
To date Malachi has produced 2 black females. One of his daughters (Bridget) will be competing in her first show at the WI Alpaca and Fiber Festival in West Bend in April of 2018. Our expectations for her are high. Her mom (MeMe) is rebred to Midnight in the Tropics for a July 2018 cria. Both of Midnights cria from 2017 were darker in color than their dames. We hope that this trend will continue in his offspring. We are expecting a total of 5 cria from him in 2018. He has been bred to black, silver grey and fawn for 2018 cria.
I always appreciate alpacas with good attitudes and this boy is the best. No halter needed to bring him to the breeding pen. Just call him out and walk him over to meet his date. No drama just great results! We love him!
