FRE Andean Goldrush

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Dark Fawn
AOA# 32620481DOB: 8/30/201212 yrs
Goldrush is a compact, sturdy male with excellent conformation, a fully fibered head, to die for fleece, and a great temperament to boot. He is the product of a lovely Peruvian Zephyrus daughter and Sunset Hills Andean Gold, winner of the fiber industry award for fleece! He looks just like Dad, and anyone who knows Andean Gold knows that he won one of his multiple championships and Judge's Choice at nine years of age! Goldrush takes the best of both these iconic lines and blends them into one phenomenal package. Fresh off an impressive performance at the Showtacular, Goldrush was praised for his brightness, organization, consistency and density. He is outstanding, and we have started breeding him on what is sure to be an outstanding breeding career. We offer half interest. Goldrush's first cria has arrived! A handsome BROWN male out of a white dam! Who would have thunk it?? Guess the color is certainly coming through. His 2nd cria, also from a white dam, looks to be either medium or dark fawn with Dad's vicuna pattern. Goldrush added a beige female from LF dam Rockette. 3 great looking crias. You're welcome to come visit them and will be seeing them in the ring next Spring! For 2017 crias we've taken Goldrush to darker dams, dark fawn and black. UPDATE: Goldrush's boy Lunar has been tearing up the Spring '17 show season. He just returned from MAPACA with a 1st place in the Small Breeder's Show in a class of 8. He followed that up with a flip-flop with his 2nd place competitor in the Jubilee in a class of 11. His brother Copper will join him this fall once we sort out his rose grey situation on his 2nd fleece.

Dam: Hidden Pastures Z Dazzle

Zeph/Dillinger GD, 1% EPD MSL

Hidden Pastures Z Dazzle

HuacayaBred (Female)Dark Fawn
AOA# 32809060DOB: 7/18/201311 yrs
Hidden Pastures Z Dazzle is a beautiful, dark fawn maiden female. Her sire is Sunset Hill's Z-Revelation, a 7/8 Accoyo son of the late Peruvian Zephyrus. Z-Rev has consistently produced solid boned offspring in a variety of color, all with bright, long stapled fleeces. Her dam is Bella Lana, a dark fawn female with a grey neck and legs. We'd call her a poorly expressed harlequin, certainly a gift from her sire, Aussie Colorado Dillinger, who's dam is the famous Hannahruh. Z Dazzle has perfect conformation, straight legs, level topline, solid bite, square proportions and a lovely huacaya head. Her fleece is, well, lets just say dazzling! Very bright, consistent and long stapled. She is a petite girl with an insane shearing weight, nearly 10% of her 70 lb yearling frame. Her 2nd fleece clocked in at an AFD of 18.2, SD 3.7, CV 20.3% and 1.0% > 30 for a 99% comfort factor. Judge Helen Testa praised her fineness and impressive staple length (nearly 5"!) when awarding her a blue ribbon. Judge Stephanie Glyptis placed a female ahead of her for size and density, but remarked that Dazzle's fleece was otherwise superior. For 2017 cria, she has been bred to our Goldrush. We're very excited to combine these two dark fawn Zephyrus grandkids. His density and crimp with her fineness and staple bodes for an amazing cria! 2016 EPD update: Dazzle ranks #60 out of over 39,000 alpacas for Mean Staple Length! Dazzle delivered her 2nd cria on 6/18/18 out of Kanaka, a fawn female. This cria is not for sale with Mom. Dazzle does include a breed back to Kanaka, which we'll take care of as soon as she's ready.

Description

Looks to be a young brown male, but we've noticed a very smoky head about him. Very curious to see how he develops, especially since his 3/4 sibling from last year has already taken home a blue ribbon in medium fawn. Staple length and brightness are off the charts. Unfortunately, we're not seeing the same character in his second fleece and are reluctantly offering him as a fiber male. His fleece is truly a spinner's dream and he as a handsome, sweet boy. He will make a spectacular addition to a fiber herd.
