PATAGONIA'S ERNESTO: Patagonia’s Ernesto is a magnificent light brown compact herdsire that improves every dam to her fullest potential. Before I purchased Ernesto, I bred numerous females to this dynamic male just to see what he could do. I discovered that I could take an average dam, breed her to Ernesto, and voila, he would produce a stunning offspring. This feat was proven when we had hundreds of the females assessed with their juvenile crias. Time and time again, the cria scored better than the dam so I knew I had something special going on with this male and one way to obtain improvement in the production of our breeding program. In many ways, Patagonia’s Ernesto has surpassed his one of a kind sire, Patagonia’s Lennox, and what Lennox has been able to achieve in his life-time. Ernesto’s dam, R&RR Irishea, is a light fawn from Ruth and Rodney Elvestad’s Canadian breeding program whose goal was to have lasting fine fleece, yet have the fleece to be the ultimate in density as well. Ruth operates Olds College in Canada working with fiber. Irishea is out of one of my very favorite males, CAVA Guivar Zorro, a true black import. He has many good breeding years left and would love to have the opportunity to prove it! PATAGONIA'S IZUSA Izusa' sire is Patagonia's El Vasco, a beautiful multi-champion black male sired by the exotic Patagonia's Neruda. El Vasco has a beautiful fleece that is fine and full of tight crimp. A skin biopsy by Dr. Evans ranked Vasco in the top 1% in density (70 follicles SQMM. SP ratio: 13 to 1). Her maternal grandsire is Patagonia’s Yukon, Virginia Alpaca Farm’s award winning medium silver-grey male of Sinopsis Nocturna lineage that has produced several award-winning offspring. Offspring: On 6/25/14, Izusa presented us with PATAGONIA ESTATES IXION, a handsome light fawn male sired by our Judges Choice & 7x Champion, Patagonia’s Ernesto. On 7/1/15, Izusa gave us ESTATES EL CANTO DE CHILE'S IDALIA, a lovely white female sired by our 5x Champion, Patagonia's El Canto de Chile. On 7/10/18, Izusa gave birth to ESTATES MAJESTIC ICELAND MOONLIGHT, a beautiful medium fawn female sired by our 6x Champion, Snowmass Majesty in Moonlight.
