Congratulations to Shari and Donna Hollinger who purchased Morning Star's Don Diego who will be going to Cascade Rose Alpacas in Washington. Diego's lineage of PPeruvian Pluro, Danko, grandsire Crescent Moon's Rayo Del Sol (6x Grand Color Champ) and Sire Emerald Farms Rincon Cloud 2005 AOBA Silver Nat'l Grand Champion are enough reason to want him in your breeding program! Diego's dam is a pretty black girl with silver throughout her body. INCREDIBLE DENSITY AND LASTING FINENESS IN THIS BOY 2015 Histogram - AFD 20.5; SD 4.4; CV 21.2; %>30 3.3; CF 96.3; still this fineness at 9 years of age for grey is amazing! His biopsy follicle test is even more impressive! Density - 62.8/mm with a Secondary:Primary fiber ratio of 13.1:1. Only 3 grey alpacas have ever tested higher in density and no grey alpacas have a higher S:P ratio (in fact, only 7 alpacas in ANY color have a higher S:P ratio - including white!). You'll have trouble finding a grey to put up a combination of those kinds of numbers anywhere! Diego has many cria on the ground & every one of them is lovely. He is clearly passing on his amazing fineness to his cria. LASTING FINENESS RUNS IN HIS BLOOD: Cria Histograms: Jacob at age 2 - 16.7 AFD; Joshua at age 3 - 16.4 AFD; Levi at age 2 - 20.1 AFD; Baratheon – 15.3 AFD; Ophelia – 15.6 AFD; Antoinette – 17.98 AFD; Lazarus – 18.4 AFD Relatives' Histograms: Diamond (Mom) at age 12 - 23.00 AFD; Black Pearle (Maternal Sister) at age 5 - 17.52 AFD; Angel (Maternal Sister) at age 7 - 21.89 AFD Diego's string of blues began in '07 with a rave review from Judge Wade Gease's , "This young man had a presence as soon as he entered the ring...his feet glided across the grass, his toes pointed straight ahead...he's consistent throughout...good density and wonderful fineness...beautiful conformation". That was just the beginning followed by Wade praising him again at AlpacaMania for his "exceptional conformation, extreme fineness, beautiful crimp and consistent fiber character". He continued to stock pile blues and more at every show and fiber exhibition we had him in until he began breeding. Diego has a sweet personality, isn't skittish and comes right to us or visitors. His fiber is exceptional and butter fine, his micron stats have always been great for a light animal let alone his coloring! They rank right alongside with some of the best in the nation! His fineness, luster, excellent dense coverage, beautiful typey head and strong bone structure will add great qualities to any herd. His conformation and proud presence was apparent since he was born and all the judge's comments confirm it. Now with so many cria on the ground it is great to see that he passes his fiber qualities on to his offspring and he is making more all the time! This is your opportunity to add Diego's beautiful DSG coloring to your herd not to mention his sweet personality, incredible fineness and his impressive genetics.
