Morning SKY's Paulina

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 32014013DOB: 8/15/201014 yrs
Gorgeous, conformationally square, and with lovely fleece with a very soft handle and a solid grey blanket - a beauty and also a two time Judges' Choice winner - once in halter (the first grey awarded in the US), and once in fleece, and the 2012 Futurity Color Champion amid stiff competition! Paulina also garnered the Color Champion banner two years in a row at both the Best of the US show and the PAOBA Breeders Showcase! Being a champion as a juvenile is wonderful; continuing to retain those qualities as a yearling and into the second fleece is a bonus and something of which we are very proud! Named in honor of her late granddam, 6P Paulettha, who passed in February 2010, Paulina is a beautiful example of what this line produces. Most have been females, and all have had strong conformation, solid bone and very nice fleece. Paulina's dam, Ainee, won a blue ribbon at the 2009 World Fleece Show as well as halter awards; her sire is an award winning Dark Shaddow son. We've been excited about Paulina since she was born, and it was proved out at her first show, the 2011 Best of the US, where, as the youngest of all of the grey females, she took a blue ribbon and then the Color Champion banner! In her first show of 2012 and as a yearling, Paulina took the blue, Color Champion banner, and the Judges Choice banner in halter! At her first show in 2011, Judge Babs Manion seemed very impressed from the minute that she began inspecting Paulina's fleece, and mentioned Paulina's extraordinary fineness, density, conformation, softness of handle, the similarity between her dark and light fibers - something that is not always easy to achieve in greys, and categorized her as having an elite fleece. Judge Wade Gease was left momentarily speechless and stuttering the first time that he opened Paulina's fleece to judge her as part of the Breeder's Best Three, and said that it was too bad that she wasn't a male! In 2012, judge Peter Kennedy and apprentice judge, Robin Nasemann, noted her extreme fineness, balance, softness and uniformity. Judge Wade Gease thanked us for giving them the opportunity to experience an alpaca of her quality - a compliment that we truly appreciated. Judge Amanda VandenBosch was heard to say "I just love her!"; judge Helen Humphreys called her "unbelievable". Judge Jude Anderson said that when it came to uniformity, Paulina "has it in spades!" Judge Ken Hibbits wanted to figure out how to fit her into his suitcase on the flight back home. Paulina was also awarded the Judges' Choice award for Best Hand at the 2013 MAPACA Jubilee Fleece Show. Her 2nd cria, Morning SKY's Spectacular, is a many time MRG CC and RC in halter and fleece. 2018 cria, Morning SKY's Midnight Possum, has great phenotype and lovely fleece. 2019 cria, Morning SKY's Raku is our MSG herdsire with soft handling fleece. 2021 MSG female cria, DanZe PPParty, is a lovely Reserve Champion.

Description

This little girl has done her champion parents proud, and we are over the moon! In her first show at 8.7 months of age, Morning SKY's Spectacular by Design was awarded a blue ribbon and then the Color Champion banner at the 2017 Buckeye Alpaca Show. A month later at the 2017 MAPACA Jubilee, she placed first and garnered the Reserve Champion banner. Now she has received the Reserve Champion award at the 2017 AOA National Fleece Show! Her sire, Morning SKY's Design was a Color Champion himself with fine histograms that show little upward movement over time, and that fineness has been passed on to his daughter. Her dam, Morning SKY's Paulina received her first Color Champion banner at her first show at 7 months of age, followed by six more over two show years, as well as a Judges' Choice fleece award at MAPACA for Best Hand. She was also the first grey ever (and still one of only two) to win a Judges' Choice banner in halter! We hope that Spec will continue to follow in Paulina's footsteps. Judge Helen Testa called her stunning and described her fleece as exquisite with tremendous fineness, and commented on her conformation as being square and pleasing to the eye. We hope that Spectacular continues to have a show record as remarkable as that of her dam, and a production career that will make a notable mark in our industry! Spectacular's sire's HISTOGRAMS BARELY CHANGED OVER TIME! 2011: AFD 15.9 / SD 2.8 / CV 17.9 / 0.7 %>30 1st Shearing 2012: AFD 17.3 / SD 2.9 / CV 17.1 / 0.4 %>30 2nd Shearing 2013: AFD 17.7 / SD 3.3 / CV 18.4 / 0.3 %>30 3rd Shearing 2014: AFD 17.8 / SD 3.5 / CV 19.4 / 0.6 %>30 4th Shearing Although she's dearly missed, Spectacular has moved on to her new home with Chris and Lori Works where we know that she will be well cared for and be an asset as a foundation female in their breeding program. We congratulate them on their insightful decision to add this "Spectacular" female to their herd! UPDATE: With her new owners, Spectacular has been awarded: 2nd & Reserve Champion at the 2017 AOA Fleece Show and numerous additional champion banners. Go Spec; you have done us proud!
