PATAGONIA'S ERNESTO: Patagonia’s Ernesto is a magnificent light brown compact herdsire that improves every dam to her fullest potential. Before I purchased Ernesto, I bred numerous females to this dynamic male just to see what he could do. I discovered that I could take an average dam, breed her to Ernesto, and voila, he would produce a stunning offspring. This feat was proven when we had hundreds of the females assessed with their juvenile crias. Time and time again, the cria scored better than the dam so I knew I had something special going on with this male and one way to obtain improvement in the production of our breeding program. In many ways, Patagonia’s Ernesto has surpassed his one of a kind sire, Patagonia’s Lennox, and what Lennox has been able to achieve in his life-time. Ernesto’s dam, R&RR Irishea, is a light fawn from Ruth and Rodney Elvestad’s Canadian breeding program whose goal was to have lasting fine fleece, yet have the fleece to be the ultimate in density as well. Ruth operates Olds College in Canada working with fiber. Irishea is out of one of my very favorite males, CAVA Guivar Zorro, a true black import. He has many good breeding years left and would love to have the opportunity to prove it! Congratulations and thank you to Raymond Mena for his purchase of Patagonia's Fidelia! PATAGONIA'S FIDELIA Patagonia's Fidelia is a lovely light fawn female with multi-champion parents. Fidelia won a 2nd Place ribbon for Fleece at her only show, the CABA Classic in 2009. In 2007, her sire Nishio was awarded the All-American Reserve Herdsire of the Year, in 2004 the All-American Herdsire of the Year, and in 2005 was the AOBA Get-of-Sire winner. Nishio has an exquisite fleece, which is black in color, extremely dense and full of high frequency crimp. Nishio's offspring have incredible fleeces and their achievements in the show ring are impressive. Her dam, La Mystique is a 2x Champion and multiple blue ribbon winner herself. Fidelia's maternal grandsire is Sinopsis Nocturna is jet black and fine. His outstanding fleece was recognized at the 1999 AOBA conference, where it was awarded the blue ribbon. Offspring: In 2012, Fidelia gave birth to a pretty light brown female cria, sired by our Patagonia's Ernesto. In 2015, Fidelia had a beautiful light brown female cria, sired by our Patagonia's Lennox. In 2016, Fidelia presented us with a lovely medium fawn female cria, sired by our Snowmass Pure Passion. In 2018, Fidelia gave us a beautiful light fawn female cria, also sired by Snowmass Pure Passion.
