HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Phenom is an essential black male to consider for a breeding program. He is big and strong. His conformation and coverage are excellent. Even though he is a bit older, his fleece is retaining softness and character. It is bright with a lovely handle. He features stunning bloodlines, and is a very efficient and effective breeder. All of his cria have been female until our own Fausto was born in fall 2016. How could you not be interested in a nice true black herdsire who throws female cria consistently? Phenom is ready to go to work for you! Phenomenon is a proven herdsire with all female crias on the ground so far. His 2013 bay black daughter, Cecelia, did well for herself in the show ring. He also threw his first grey girl, named Constance, in 2014. She has the potential to be truly exceptional and award-winning. From Black to Fawn to Grey, these girls all have elegance, style, and AWESOME, extremely long staple length fleece! Phenomenon’s conformation mirrors his sire the late 6Peruvian Conan. They are both tall with exceptional coverage and similar head styles. Phenomenon's pedigree is, well, phenomenal! His maternal grandsire is the famous Bolivian Black Thunder. He is a paternal half brother to the multi-champion Peruvian Lancaster. He is maternal half-brother to the grey multi-champion Victoria's Hamilton. And, now, Phenomenon is now passing these outstanding genetics on to his offspring. Phenomenon has a quiet confidence that commands attention. Whether he is in the pasture, show ring, or in “with the girls," this show-stopping male is a sight to behold. He is truly a phenomenon - his fiber is getting a tighter crimp as he ages, yet he is maintaining a beautiful, buttery soft handle! Note: All seven of Phenom's cria to date have been female!

Final Update: Frannie delivered her latest cria, a female classic silver grey girl out of 8X champion Irish Meadows Peruvian Showtime, on May 7th, 2019. Frannie is now sold; look for her and her cria at Circus City Alpacas in Peru, Indiana. Hi all! Frannie is a gem with a combination of rare bloodlines and quality. She has been with us since she was a wee cria. The fleece she produces is some of the best grey fleece we have ever had at our farm! She is certainly worth the investment! HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Frannie was always the best grey dam on our farm. She has a nearly spotless blanket with AWESOME density. Though compact, she has excellent conformation and coverage. She has always been a good mom with lots of milk. She is very protective of her babies. Every one of her crias has been stunning. She is an exceptional grey producer! Frannie deserves a spot on a farm’s foundation herd. She would be a great addition to any farm. Françoise was born just after noon on May 31st, and she hit the ground at an amazing 20.3 lbs! She is a solidly built little girl with a broad chest and excellent squareness to her frame. Her color is equally astounding--the most gorgeous shade of light silver, with only a few barely detectable small spots in her blanket. Her fleece density rivals any animal we have had born on the farm, and she has amazing medium frequency crimp and bundling. Frannie had some issues with an inner ear infection early on, and still has a droopy right ear and paralysis in her upper right eyelid. While these cosmetic problems did limit her show ring career, she has grown into a great breeding female and we are excited about the crias this girl will produce! Frannie gave birth to her first cria--a cute rose grey female out of the multiple get-of-sire winner Charles P. Atlas--in May 2013. Frannie followed that up with a promising true black boy out of the late Woodland Meadows Greyson in June 2014. Frannie's two most recent crias really prove her potential as a foundation female; check out the separate listings for her crias Maya Zatz and Fausto de Elhuyar! As with her own mother and grandmother, she has turned out to be a great mom, producing lots of milk for her cria. Frannie is named after Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, the French biologist and current director of the Unité de Régulation des Infections Rétrovirales at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, France. She was the winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, which she shared with her mentor Luc Montagnier. The two virologists are credited with discovering the retroviral human immunodeficiency virus. Frannie is confirmed bred to 8X halter champion Irish Meadows Peruvian Showtime for an May 2019 cria.

Description

HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Fausto is a classic tuxedo silver grey out of our best silver grey mom and our true black son of the legendary Conan. Exceptional bloodlines; buttery soft fleece; impeccable conformation. Yes, Fausto is still very young but boy is this guy promising! We are liquidating our herd and want to find a home for Fausto and his friend Tesla together where they will be pampered and given the opportunity to prove themselves in the show ring. Both boys are promising young junior herdsires with exceptional pedigrees of black and grey. Don't miss this opportunity! Very little risk and lots to gain! Fausto has an unusual pedigee for a grey huacaya, making him an attractive addition for any grey breeding program. That said, his background is not pedestrian; it is filled with stand-out names including 6Peruvian Conan, Bolivian Black Thunder, PPeruvian Pluro, El Padre, Kaspa, Peruvian Gold Rush, CPeruvian Donatello, and the legendary dam CPeruvian Lady Godiva. Fausto is named for Fausto de Elhuyar, who was a late 18th century Spanish chemist. He is credited as the joint discoverer of tungsten, along with his brother Juan José Elhuyar, in 1783. De Elhuyar founded a School of Mines in México City, which was an architectural marvel known as the "Palacio de Minería". Elhuyar eventually left Mexico after the Mexican War of Independence, as most of the Spanish residents in Mexico were expelled at that time. Fausto is for sale as part of a set, along with his buddy Tesla. Both born in October 2016, these promising grey and black boys are potential herdsires and show candidates. We would like to keep these two friends together, and are hoping to find a farm that will work with them and possibly show them. There is great potential here--one or both of these boys could develop into very nice herdsires. Both boys are very curious and love to be around people. The boys are newly weaned, so at this point are not halter trained and have not been extensively handled; we will be working with them this spring.
