Miss Whisper's Diomedes daughter is maturing beautifully. She has the same calm, sweet personality of her dam and that characteristic fleece of her sire. First histogram results were 17.0, 4.1, 23.9, 1.0. The little lady is growing by leaps and bounds and boasts perfect conformation...see photos below!
Whisper is beautiful girl from stellar production lines. Her conformation can't be beat, and her fleece is incredibly soft to the touch..."whisper soft" in fact, which is what prompted her name. Hand spinners love this fleece...I took several to a town some distance from us for a spinner to look at for purchase; she chose Whisper's.
Wendy, Whisper's dam, has truly produced phenomenal animals for us...lots of ribbons including a Champion and a Reserve Champion as well as Produce of Dam awards. Her sire is Maple Brook Fandango who really needs no introduction anymore, and her dam is out of Legacy. In addition to Wendy's side, Whisper boasts lines of Leon and Victor from her sire, Grazing Hills Andrus. Yes, we were surprised to get a white from a medium fawn and light brown, especially since Andrus, produced a dark brown with grey ears from a white female...just another mystery of alpaca genetics. We do think Whisper will throw color when bred to a colored animal based on her pigmentation as well as her backgound.
Even before the decision to disperse of animals, we would have left Whisper open for spring breeding since we had decided against future fall births. We would be happy to breed her for you upon purchase.
