Dam: LF del A Summer Bouquet
35249801<--ari-->Bay Black<--color-->Summer is exactly the kind of female to have at the foundation of a colored breeding program.
This girl is the definition of consistency and retained fineness.
Her fiber statistics have remained essentially the same from her first histogram at 11 months old, to her third at 36 months.
AFD: 21.4/ 21.1 and 21.9 in consecutive years. Take a look at the fiber comparison chart at right and fiber stats for more details. Impressive and even more so for a Bay Black!
Her fleece has good density and character.
This fiber makes the most scrumptious yarn and at 3 years old, still maintains a "next to the skin" comfort factor.
Summer's genetics are impeccable. Her sire, Patagonia's Ernesto, holds 6 banners and was awarded Judge's Choice at GWAS 2010. Her grand sire, Lennox, is renowned for his own super record and his many, many superior offspring.
Summer's dam, Dulcinea gave us 3 gorgeous daughters, and an Appy son, all with lovely, consistently retained fineness ... they have an impressive collection of ribbons among them. Dulcie is now doing her magic for Out of Sight Alpacas in New Jersey.
Dulcie brings not only retained fineness, but a grey background to the mix.
Summer gave us a beautiful son in 2014... out of BMF Taos' Zeppelin... a Bay Black with soft fiber and a wonderful staple length.
She is now bred to Annual's Bea-2 Bomber, the incredible son of .38 Special. Bomber's babies are taking the show ring by storm ... producing champions is the family business!
Summer is due August 28, 2015. We bred her to Bomber with an eye to bringing out her grey genetics, while maintaining fineness and staple length... and of course, hoping for another champion.
We are happy to answer questions, provide fiber samples and further information!
