A Peruvian Presidio son and Grandson of Accoyo Caligula, this guy has it all! An outstanding show ring record of his own ( 2X Color Champion with 10 Blue Ribbons) and now his cria all over the U.S are doing the same. Dillinger's dam is Medium Rose Grey Hannahruh, who has consistently produced award winning cria - including the well known Painted Sky Apres Vous and champion Grey, Aussie Rockford. His sire, Full Peruvian Presidio, perhaps the finest producing son of Accoyo Caligula, now has 7 "Get of Sire" wins and was 2nd in "Get of Sire" at the 2004 National Show, in what Judge Mike Safely called the "best Get of Sire class" he'd ever judged. But as they say, the proof is in the progeny. Dillinger's reputation is based on his proven ability to add density, crimp, compaction and darkness to his offspring. Take a look at just a few of Dillinger's award winning cria. There is Aussie Lady Derringer, who holds 6 First Place Ribbons as well as a Color & Reserve Color Championship. There is Aussie Dillinger's Ruger with 7-1st Place Ribbons & 4 Color Championships to date. And if you like Grey, there is NeverSummer's Billabong with multiple 1st Place finishes and a Reserve Color championship. And Dillinger is still producing winners...3 of his progeny were shown at the 2009 KY Classic in 3 Different Color classes. All 3 ribboned coming in 1st in Dark Silver Grey, 2nd in Medium Fawn splitting a pair of Patagonia Lennox girls, and a 3rd place in the Beige Class. Not only this....many of his sons are now working herdsires at farms. We are very excited about our recent acquistion of "The Man", Aussie Colorado Dillinger. We would like to thank John & JoAnn Datillo of Serene n'Green Alpacas and Steve & Cheryl Russell of Misty Morning Alpacas for making this Exceptional Herdsire available. He will be arriving at our farm in mid-April and will be ready to go to work. Take advantage of our breeding special!

Description

Wowza!! What can we say.... from the moment Deb Hill of Cloud Dancer alpacas showed me a photo of Bolero pronking across a field at her place, I told her that I HAD to have this boy. This was way back in 2005 when appaloosas werent such a cool 'thing'. I tried to tell her he was a spotted reject in a world that desired nice solid blankets.... it didnt work. She knew he was a superstar. She took Bolero to shows and he won ribbons. But that wasnt the amazing part - it was the crowds that gathered wherever he went. The same thing probaby happens when Brad Pitt walks into a store.... Bolero (AKA 'Bo') is a star! I was able to purchase Bolero as a yearling. We've had a great time playing the breeding odds game and have made quite a few appaloosa offspring. For us, this was a complished by breeding Bolero to vicunia patterned females. Two of his Harlequin Appy offspring are still on the ranch here. Son 'Cappi' literally shears a purple shaded fleece. Its very unique. They test higher in micron fineness, but they are top of the charts for excellent fleece weights and fiber Staple Length. Bolero's EPD ranking for Staple length is in the TOP 2%, Fleeceweight TOP 15% of the database. We have seen first hand the trait heritability he passes with regards to fiber Staple Length... it is consistant and remains throught the years. That is excellent for your fiber processing requirements. We have made a few runs of just our Appy yarn and it spins up beautifully. Bolero's 'special' DNA comes from his sire Aussie Colorado Dillinger (a son of the famous Hannaruh, who generously blessed us with these Appy genes!) Bolero is conformationally correct, from head to toes. He is a compact male with a charming personality. He is a good breeder and always settled females easily. Bolero has never had any health issues. Ever. We have not bred for Appaloosas the last few years, as we focused our efforts on our white herd. Additionally, we really just don't have the fawn females needed for an appy program and we cant breed him to his daughter, so we're 'stuck'. Realizing the appaloosa interest is alive and strong out there and we'd like someone to utilize Bolero in an Appy program. His price is posted reflecting his age - but dont let this low price fool you, he is well worth every dollar (we paid much more) and he will surely produce Appys when bred appropriately for appy. WE WILL BE ATTENDING NATIONALS IN DENVER IN MARCH, AND CAN BRING BOLERO FOR PICKUP IN DENVER IF ANY BUYER WISHES TO PICK HIM UP THERE.
