Not just because of what he is but also because of *who* he is, we had kept very close tabs on this superlative young male almost since the day he was born. There was considerable debate in-house in fact when he was only about 2 months old as to whether or not we (in this case meaning Ian, who does 90% of the naming around here) could really saddle him with a name like Centurion? He was looking spectacular already as most of the great ones do but you know…you never want to apply the jinx! Unfortunately for Centurion, he was also tasked with being the younger maternal brother of CCNF Elixir, who at the time had just finished up the spring 2012 show season by winning back-to-back Judges’ Choice honors at both the North American show as well as the Futurity. Talk about a tough act to follow...no pressure kid. As it turns out, we need not have worried. Having derived his elite fleece characteristics in equal measure from both his sire, our Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass Matrix Majesty and his world-class dam, CCNF Ascension (a daughter of CCNF Archangel), Centurion and his undeniable quality were and are here to stay. Coming off of a spring show season that saw him win Champion White Male as well as Judges' Choice Huacaya Male at both the 2014 North American Alpaca show as well as the ever-prestigious Futurity, the prospect of him working alongside his older brother and/or covering females for Elixir when he returns to his co owner’s farm (A Paca Fun Farm in Maryland) in the fall, we feel will give our breeding program just that much more depth. We are talking about not just an alpaca who is an amazing specimen at this moment in time but one who also has the track record in his extended family of holding those incredible fleece qualities well into old age. As we approach 2021 Centurion now has had multiple generations of offspring including several Champions and is available for outside stud service on a limited basis. Please call or email with any inquiries!

If we do our job right, every year there always is a core group of crias born into our herd that we know fairly quickly are *very* special. CCNF Dreadnought was part of that special clique within the 2015 birth class here at Cas-Cad-Nac and was one of the first -- but by no means the last -- alpaca born here to show just what a potent cocktail the genetics of CCNF Elixir and Snowmass Matrix Majesty could combine to make. Certain lines just work well together and Elix and Majesty have basically been having an epic genetic bromance ever since. On his sire's side, Dreadnought brings in the genetics of the mighty CCNF Archangel, our our old foundation female 5Peruvian Cangalli (now deceased), and of course the inimitable Snowmass Elite Legend, who once upon a time also laid his head here at CCNF. Dreadnought's dam, CCNF Prima Majesty though obviously a daughter of you-know-who, is maternally out of our now aging SuperNova daughter and former AOBA National Champion, CCNF Bellarina, whose mother in turn was our old rock star dam, PPPeruvian Pachelbel. So on paper and pedigree alone, Dreadnought is really easy to get excited about. Then you look at the package: dense and fine, with a highly organized fleece that just shines. He is in short everything we were looking and hoping for when we bred his parents together. As it turns out, we were even happy that he was born with testicles as well! Fresh off of his final jaunt around an actual show ring where he was the RC Fawn Male at the 2018 Futurity, Dreadnought is now a proven Herdsire. If early returns are any predictor of things to come, we are nothing but bullish about what the future holds for this exciting Herdsire!

Description

This colored daughter of CCNF Centurion was named after her famous maternal granddam, SHR Virtual’s Reality, who more than left her mark here before she passed away in 2016. Reality’s dam, CCNF Acomani, in addition to having the good mojo from her mama, is also a member of the legendary PPP Jesusa line -- via her sire Golden Sovereign -- which we value so much here at Cas-Cad-Nac. Little Reality is a compact young female with the fiber one would expect of her Champion parents. We offer Reality bred to 2017 AOA National Fleece Show Champion AND 2018 Futurity Reserve Fawn Champion, CCNF Dreadnought! She of course comes with a full repro and live birth guarantee. Reality is due in early June with what will be one of Dreader's first cria ever. There are no guarantees as to her availability once the baby is born...
