Scorpion is FOR SALE! He did his job for us and now we are looking for a new home for this beautiful silver gray boy. Scorpion survived and went on to breed after suffering wounds to his penis from another male. Much Gratitude to our vets at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center and Dr. Dean Neely in particular because without his help I don't think that would have been possible. But the gist of that story is that Scorpion does NOT enjoy other male alpaca company so ideally we would like to find him a place where he can be a perimeter guard at an alpaca or llama farm where he can be in his own run but near other camelids - preferably females of course. : ) We have him next to our girl pastures right now and it's easy to see who is receptive and who is not.
Please feel free to call 908-328-6323 or email
[email protected] with any questions regarding Scorpion, I will be more than happy to talk or email you about any questions, concerns or potential homing situations. Of course, he sells with his breeding rights if you choose to breed him.
Scorpion's 2007 are making us and our clients very happy! At Mapaca 2008 3 of Scorpions cria all placed 6th in very competetive classes at the world's largest alpaca show: Hayet Morning Star, Dream Escape Silver Patronus, and WGA Wicked Icon.
Scorpion is producing CHAMPION fleece on his cria! Son Paco Bill's fleece took 1st and COLOR CHAMPION BLACK FLEECE at PAOBA 2007! We are also absolutely thrilled that Scorpion's fawn daughter, Candy Apple, is in the ribbons in the highly competitive fawn classes! Candy Apple's 2nd fleece is stellar! Check out her's and Paco's fleece pics on the bottom right!
Silver Scorpion is the 2004 AOBA Gray Juvenile Male blue ribbon winner in the composite class with the highest scoring gray male fleece! Silver Scorpion's fleece has extremely uniform crimp combined with incredible luster & even silver coloring as well as unbelievable handle. Scorpion is maintaining his fineness as he ages: 19.7 AFD in 2003, 18.5 AFD in 2004, 20.7 AFD in 2005, & 20.8 in 2006 @ 3 yrs of age!
In mid-March during herd health I non-chalantly opened his fleece and was excited to see that the uniformity and architecture of his crimp is the same as his weanling and yearling fleece! I can't wait to get that new pic of his fleece up here to show you!
The 2006 histograms for his first two cria are fabulous! Paco Bill's is 20.0 AFD and WGA Butterfly's is 20.7 AFD.
Silver Scorpion combines fabulous fleece traits with beautiful balance, nice proportions, excellent topline, leg conformation, correct bite, & presence.
