Roxy is a beautiful full Peruvian 1/4 Accoyo dark silver grey girl. She is a traditional grey with a tuxedo and all the wonderful markings and colors traditional greys are known for.
Roxy'a Dam is Bujorian's Peruvian Opal - a full peruvian, 1/2 Accoyo, white alpaca who is the daughter of C Peruvian Accoyo Don Quijote a Full Peruvian Accoyo - white - in-utero import with "possibly the rarest champion Accoyo genetics in the Country". Roxy's Sire is Alpacarosa Peruvian Picasso a Full Peruvian Tuxedo Style Bay Black with fleece that excels in density and length. Picasso is the son of Benchmark's Peruvian Bam Bam a Full Peruvian Dark Silver Grey who took 1st Place at AOBA Nationals Yearling Halter in 2004, 1st Place Illinois Showplace 2004, 1st Place Michigan International Alpacafest 2003 and 2nd Pace Ohio Alpacafest 2003.
Roxy had her first cria out of PHA Accoyo Stratosphere in 2012, at Ideuma Creek Alpacas; a beautiful rose grey girl! Roxy had been rebred to Accoyo Stratopshere for a 2013 cria. This pairing produced a Full Peruvian, 5/8 Accoyo beige female cria that we named Dahlia, who seems to have inherited her great grandfather Don Quijotes light coloring while also inheriting her grandfather Picasso's dense; long fleece. See our separate listing for Dahlia.
Roxy was bred in 2014 to our Herdsire Masquerade, a dark silver grey Full Peruvian with beautiful long, dense fleece that spins up like a dream. Masquerade comes from full Peruvian lineage. With the blend of browns, black and grey his potential to throw color is wonderful. He has beautiful long fiber - average staple length of 4 3/4 inches (Ranking him in the Top 1% for MSL in the 2014 EPD Trait Testings and again in 2015 for the same) - that just spins up beautifully! I have noticed in this past year that his fiber has lightened up to the point that his processed roving was actually more on the medium silver grey side. Masq's fiber took 4th Place in the 2012 American Fiber Rally – Judge’s remarks “Consistent in micron across blanket”; 2nd Place in the 2012 Empire Trifecta Spin-Off and in 2013 2nd Place in the American Fiber Rally - Fleece - Judges remarks "soft hand and nice brightness, good staple length relative to age division"; and, 5th Place in the 2013 Empire Alpaca Trifecta - Spin-off
Roxy and Masquerades cria arrived May 24th; she is a beautiful medium rose grey with the cutest little white face that we named Marigold. The color on her blanket is divine and her fiber is long, dense fleece just like her sire's.
