Our Peruvian Black Jag

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 30340879DOB: 8/20/200519 yrs
True black from two true black parents, Jag carries color genetics deep with black and grey. In addition to the rich black color, his fiber has wonderful hand and architecture...a fabulous combination! We purchased Jag to be the perfect complement to daughters coming from our three champion colored herdsires, Snowmass King Crimson, Lace's Peruvian Black Lance, and Avalon's Peruvian Granger. We've already seen the outstanding daughters coming from Crimson and Lance, so we knew we had to find a male worthy of them. We believe Jag is the answer. Unfortunately, Jag was not shown as a juvenile. Tucked away in a back pasture of a large farm, Jag went unnoticed. Well, that has changed! Since we purchased Jag, we have been eager to get him into the showring. He "came home" in early March 2007 and, as a yearling, had his first experience with a halter and lead. Only days later he was in his first show. Jag gained confidence and it has shown in the ring. He glides and prances as he enters the ring, capturing the judges' attention. NOTE! Jag came into his own at the Great Midwest Alpaca Festival where he was chosen as the 1st Place True Black Yearling Male. Judge Jude Anderson then selected him as the Black Color Champion, noting that his fleece was the "finest with good crimp, and lock, even from skin to tip, well covered, conformationally sound with great style"! If you are looking to find a top quality, true black male to breed to your girls, this is definitely a male you'll want to check out. Visit us and see for yourself. Ask about Avalon Farm's Special Program of DISCOUNTED "CUSTOMER" AND "PRIORITY" STUD FEES!. Our breeding contract includes: 60 DAYS FREE BOARD for dam and the cria by her side AND a 30 DAY LIVE CRIA GUARANTEE. "Drive-By" and Mobile breedings may be arranged. Call us

Raveena has produced champion offspring. Her 2011 cria took blue ribbons and her 2012 cria has won multiple color championships! She has wonderful conformation and is a great breeder. She is easy to breed, very independent and is definitely an alpha female! Her babies are strong and healthy. Peter Kennedy choose Ravina/Jag's 2012 cria (Malachi) as best black male (as a Juvi) of 27 males at the Great Midwest Alpaca Show. For those who are not familiar Mr. Kennedy is not only a Judge but an alpaca breeder who breeds exclusively for Black Alpacas. This expert in black alpacas picked Malachi as 2014 Color Champion. Raveena's Champion offspring are now producing show winners as well. These positive genetic will continue for generations. Raveena is bred to Champion Midnight in the Tropics for a 2018 cria. Cria for 2018 Born 5/23/2018. Female (Emily) weighed in at 18.8#'s Black and Beautiful. Pictures coming soon! We like this one so much we bred her back to Midnight in the Tropics for 2019. Description

Malachi has won Reserve Champion and Color Champion as a Jr. His fiber is incredibly dense. He has the most consistent fleece of any animal that we have produced. He is consistent in Color, Crimp, and fineness. As a true black, he is carrying on the style of his sire - Peruvian Black Jag. Black Jag has produced multiple Champion alpacas. Black Jag has the ability to Darken color and it is our hope that Malachi will do the same. Championship again for Malachi at the West Bend show in April. Malachi will hopefully then start breeding this summer. If you would like a breeding to Malachi we will sell breeding for $500 to get him started in the summer of 2014. Call Sally to discuss breeding arrangements. We will be breeding three of our girls to him this year and are excited to see what he will produce. Peter Kennedy awarded Malachi color champion over 24 other black males. For those who may not be familiar with Mr. Kennedy he is not only a senior judge but also is an alpaca breeder who specializes in Black Alpacas. We will consider selling part ownership in this male. Please contact us to discuss this amazing opportunity. 920-371-0003
