Having admired his offspring for many years now, we were thrilled to acquire half of Sub-Zero from our friends at Tripping Gnome Farm. To us, Sub represents yet another layer of genetic depth that we can now cross in aggressively with the progeny of Archangel, Messiah, SuperNova, Precocious, and Elite Legend. The living embodiment of that greater plan, can be found in the form of Sub-Zero's grandson, CCNF Bataclan, and Bataclan's many offspring that are getting ready to make their impact as we begin our 24th year of operation in 2021. The lingering fineness in a fleece that is both dense, bright, and uniform makes him a very valuable puzzle piece to CCNF in our continuing goal to push the development of North American alpaca fiber to yet another level. If you need further evidence of Sub-Zero's greatness, we invite folks attending the spring shows this coming April to come and see his medium fawn son, TGF Legit, a young junior Herdsire whom we likewise pried from the hands of our friends in Freeport and whom we also have very high hopes for going forward. We are proud to co own Snowmass Sub-Zero with Lynn Edens of Little Creek Farm Alpacas in North Salem, NY! Though no formal schedule has been set, Sub will be spending his time more or less split between the farms of his two owners throughout each breeding season. We are happy to try to accommodate outside breedings, so please inquire with either farm as to his schedule if you are interested in breeding to this incredible Herdsire!

Chalice is that rarest of the rare: a daughter of the legendary imported Peruvian female, PPeruvian Jesusa! Her sire is some slouch named Archangel, but more on him in a minute. Jesusa's genetics can be found in some of the most prepotent alpacas in the world. From here alone there are most notably Golden Sovereign and his full sister, Magdalena, who between them have produced more Champions for CCNF than any other sibling pair in our program's history. At Snowmass Alpacas, where they originally imported Jesusa, she can be found in many of their most important lines but most notably in that of Snowmass Quechua and all that he has meant to the North American herd. All of which brings us to the question of Chalice's breeding for her 2013 cria. We elected to breed her in 2010, albeit very distantly, with Snowmass Elite Legend. Anyone that has touched that spectacular male or seen his offspring understands the potential of that cross. To combine Elite Legend's outrageous density, stapling, and uniformity with the fineness (18.9 AFD at 7 years of age), uniformity, and phenotype of Archangel is or as the case is now, was, an invitation for lightning to strike and strike it did. The resulting little female cria, named CCNF Jesusa after her grandmother, was everything we had hoped for. As a debutante member of our spring show string MJ (mini Jesusa) won blue ribbons at the NAAS and Futurity as well as the AOBA National Fleece Show! Not too shabby. She is also among the core group of Elite Legend daughters that we are absorbing into our foundation herd in hopes of furthering our program's breeding goals long term/ Chalice gave birth in late August to a gorgeous white male sired by Snowmass Elite Legend, meaning that this latest cria is CCNF Jesusa's full sibling. For the time being, Chalice will sell with her new EL boy at her side. She has now been bred back and is conformed pregnant to our 2013 Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass Matrix Majesty, who sired her blue ribbon winning 2012 daughter, CCNF Mariella!

Eaton’s father is none other than the legendary Snowmass Elite Legend, Futurity Light Herdshire of the Year 3X and Futurity Light Herdshire Reserve 3X . He is the most distinguished White Huacaya Stud standing in the world. His mother is CCNF Star Sapphire who has some great genetics from her renowned father Snowmass Royal Rose. He is packed with incredible genetics. He was the first animal we ever showed as a yearling. Competing in a white class with 14 males wasn’t exactly how we wanted to start out but he held his own placing 4th. He was beaten by two very well-known CCNF males, Centurion and Defiance. He’s gone on to sire several crias for us including our latest girl. We have another Elite Legend son and have decided to sell him. He’s a powerful animal with a magnificent frame. He rules the field (not in a bad way) and the other boys know who the boss is.
