Skyline Alpacas is now the proud new owner of MFI Peruvian Magistrate. We feel blessed to be able to add this stunning male to our herdsire row. After the untimely passing of LMFI Peruvian Delta King before his arrival at our farm, we were devastated as we were so looking forward to adding the Jericho line to our herd. Tripp Forstner was kind enough to offer us the purchase of Magistrate off their herdsire row to fill in this loss. Magistrate is a phenotypically gorgeous stud with a bright, fawn fleece displaying outstanding fleece character and exceptional density. Magistrate is a Jericho son out of one of their best dams, MFI Peruvian Malloria. Malloria is full sister to another one of their herdsires, Peruvian Magnar. With this combination of genetics we not only are adding the Jericho line to our breeding program but also Quetzal/Timoteo, and Matador lines as well. We are anxious to see Magistrate’s crias here on our farm as Tripp says the ones that they have are outstanding. Tripp feels strongly enough about the quality of Magistrate that he reserved breedings with the sale!

Cinnamon Rose is a spectacular Rose Grey gal out of one of the best greys we've ever had on our farm… Patagonia's Chilena. Sadly, we lost Chilena in 2008 but at least we have her Kaspa daughter, Cinnamon Rose. Chilena remained fine throughout her life, and Cinnamon Rose is following in her footsteps. Patagonia's Kaspa is also very well known and was one of Patagonia's top herdsires for many years. Cinnamon Rose is now one of our favorite foundation females and she still maintains her fineness. Her fleece is always one that we choose to have processed into our yarn. We love its uniformity, fineness and brightness. Cinnamon Rose also has produced wonderful cria for us. We especially love her 2014 Magistrate cria, a silver grey female!

We are thrilled with Avatar's newest creations - including Delphi's Avella - The 2017 National grey female halter Champion at just over 6 months of age. And congratulations to Avella's new owners, Debbie and Dale Hoerl; Alpacas of Moose Creek Ranch! Many more Avatar crias will be arriving in 2018. Avatar has beautiful crimpy, dense, and fine fleece, but what separates him from other outstanding herd sires, is his phenomenal handle - due to both exceptional uniformity, and very bright, low scale fiber. Cameron Holt, AOBA Senior Judge Trainer and world wide fiber expert, gave the following scores to Avatar's fleece: Fineness: 15 out of 15 ; Handle: 5 out of 5 ; Uniformity of micron: 7 out of 8 ; Crimp: 8.5 out of 10 ; Density: 3 out of 5 ; Brightness: 8 out of 10 ; Lack of medullation: 8 out of 10. His daughter Delphi's Lailah won Color Champion Grey Female Fleece at the 2012 Nationals. His son Delphi's Rama won a Blue Ribbon at the 2012 National Fleece Show, (and then brown Color Champion at the Tenessee Waltz Fleece Show). These two Avatar kids insured Delphi's win of the 2012 Classic Cup for fleece, at the 2012 Nationals. Another standout offspring is Kanaka - an 8X Champion with 1% EPD's in both SD and >30; and 2% EPD's in fineness. While we don't participate in the program, we agree Avatar's son Kanaka's EPD stats do reflect his sire's strong suits. Avatar's many other crias now include Six AOBA National Halter or Fleece Champions, several Futurity Champions, and many many many Multi-Champion and Blue Ribbon show winners, in addition to the winners of many Special Awards, such as the Best Brightness award at the National Fleece Show - the first time this award has been awarded to a grey.
