We are extremely excited to add Encanto to our breeding program. For many years now, we have admired the offspring of his dam, Snowmass Escobar's Sonata. Each year, Sonata produces exceptional cria, and now, her oldest crias such as Donno Bello (see Xanadu Alpacas) are following down the same path as their dam with amazing consistency and outrageously good fleeces. Sonata's sire, Escobar, was one of the best sons of Hemingway. Sonata's dam and granddam, Andean Song and Duet have had a very significant impact on Snowmass's herd and have produced numerous herdsires including Snowmass Elite Legend. But that is only half the story. Encanto's sire, Maple Brook's Barnabus, is also beyond compare. He has the unchallenged honor of having the lowest AFD on record at 12.8! And his offspring are following in dad's footsteps. Barnabus is the son of MFI Peruvian Wellington and grandson of Accoyo Augusto and Bueno. Encanto's breedings are restricted and are not available for breeding credits. Encanto is co-owned with Sheila Schwartz-Zych of Tanner Z Farm in NY.
