Nueva Dia Margarita SALE PENDING

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 32186925DOB: 6/5/201212 yrs
Margarita had a beautiful female cria on June 17. She's been a terrific mother! Easy to work around, and attentive to her cria who gained 3 lbs a week and very active. The cria is reserved and not for sale, however Margarita will be held open until fall, so the price includes a re-breed to any Nueva Dia Alpacas herdsire. Fiber update! yearling fleece testing shows Margarita's medium brown fleece is 21.6 microns! (Apr 2014). Margarita received two BLUE ribbons in March 2013 at Southern Select and Spring Bling and another Blue at the Small Breeders Challenge in April 2013. Margarita has an abundance of fine crimpy fleece and nice confirmation / bite with an upright square frame. She had 2 1/2 inches of fleece at 3 months old which re-grew nicely. Staple length is great for her age. Her fleece is coming in on her face with lots of dark fawn curly fleece around dark eyes & eyelashes. She catches my eye every time I'm around her! Very cute with her dark points on ears, nose & legs! Margarita is 1/4 Accoyo (dam's sire is Pacific Crest Accoyo Top Dog) and carries dark genetics including Lanark's Espresso and Dewey Meadows Black Magic, along with well known fawn Drambuie and gray Dom Timbo. We found her at 5 p.m. after work and decided to celebrate with a margarita, for a name that is! After all, it's 5:00 somewhere, to quote a line from one of my favorite Jimmy Buffet songs. Margarita sells with a free re-breed after the cria is weaned. We now co-own a champion gray sire that will be at our farm this summer. He would be a great match for Margarita! Customers receive discounts on future breedings for their herd. If you're not interested in gray, our brown junior sire Kotori has matured to a handsome young stud with dense fleece that is staying fine. He would be a great choice!

Description

Wow! This yearling female catches your eye as you look at the herd. Typey phenotype, upright correct frame and bite, and a super cute head with fuzzy ears and fleece covering her from nose to toes. Last chance to pickup this female at this price! After she leaves the farm at the end of the month for MOPACA she'll be travelling west for her first breeding.... then the price will reflect a bred female. Indie's fiber is bright and crimpy and oh so soft, as her yearling micron test showed at 17.0 micron. And the color... wow! every time I open the staples, there's more gray! Her neck is now silver gray and her blanket is rose gray. This fall she will probably color check as a dark indefinite but after one more shearing she will likely be a modern rose gray with no white markings anywhere. She was a pleasure to show this last spring, placing in the middle of her juvenile halter class at MOPACA. Then her newly sheared blanket was shown at the TN Waltz Fleece show this fall and placed 2nd of 4 with judge Wini Labreque.
