Description

After hearing multiple times from some of the industry leaders talk about fiber as a commercial industry and white being the fleece color of where it will be at, we decided to ramp up our foundation in white. We felt the tide shifted in the show circuit where there used to be heavy competition in white, there were hardly any enrolled. Personally, while I love the looks of grey, white fleece characteristics are tough to top in density, fineness and uniformity. White and black do blend to grey nicely and you can dye white a full spectrum of colors. Commercially it makes complete sense. Our light foundation females all come from pedigrees with quite a bit of color in their background from fawn, brown and other colors - So, when looking at males, we were looking for a guy with great fleece stats, density and one that had numerous generations of white. Denali has top producing names like Hemmingway, Victor, Manchu and El Nino in his pedigree. Needless to say, when we went and looked at him, we liked what we saw and felt. His histogram was almost identical two years in a row. Fine (under 18 micron) uniform and dense! He also has a very robust frame. When we bought him we were told how nice his yarn turned out. We sent his fleece in for ourselves and couldn't be more pleased, looks and feels fabulous - almost slick like a suri. Fiber Stats: 17.6/4.0/22.5/1.1
