TOP 1% EPDS in Five Categories! WOW!!!

Derwydd Totora's Chupulu

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn
AOA# 30901568DOB: 3/2/201113 yrs
OH WOW..Derwydd knew they had bred a fine one…his dam has retained fineness – his granddam is in the top 5 in the country for retained fineness - but when his EPD’s came in for 2014 – it was just icing on the cake. Five out of the Nine EPD values are in the top 1% and Two more are in the top 3% – absolutely stunning! So when Dale Davis set out to plan the breeding that produced this male – she was looking to lock in his grandam’s incredible fine fleece. She is just about 18 years old and still 23 micron with an SD of 3.5…just incredible. Her daughter, Cungasca, inherited that retained fineness – at 11 years old she is 24 micron with an SD of 4.5. So you can see where she was headed with this breeding… FINE FINE FINE.. and WOW did she get it. But she also wanted a male with STYLE...incredible EPD’s, retained fineness – those are incredible…but you need the whole package! You want correct conformation! You want substantial bone! You want a head that is generational! And boy does Chupulu have all that! He got his grandsire, El R Peruvian Luciano’s, head so it’s obviously a strong trait in his line. This boy has sooo much color in his pedigree – Black – Grey – Fawn!!! This male is destined to throw color and LOTS of it.
CHUPULU'S EPD RANKINGS
Chupulu has settled some girls and is ready for more breedings ahead! The question is: Are YOU ready to get his incredible EPD’s working for you in your program? On October 2, 2015, Chupulu's first cria arrived, a beautiful girl, Chupulu's Prima Figlia, with exceptionally bright white, silky soft, crimpy fleece!

Charlize

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 845732DOB: 2/1/200123 yrs
Charlize is the product of two grey parents. She is white/light fawn and an easy keeper. Charlize’s dam was a Chilean import chosen by the Nordstrom dynasty’s Meadow Wood Farms, to be bred to the renowned light rose grey herdsire import from Peru, CPeruvian Silvino, sire of 148 cria. CPeruvian Silvino was owned and highly prized by the owner of Alianza in Peru and he was hand selected by the importers as their own male. His gorgeous rose grey fleece won First Place in the 1999 AOBA Fleece show. On May 28, 2014 Charlize had a beautiful fawn/light rose grey girl, Shae, sired by our herdsire, Patagonia’s Darwin, whose parents are both Chilean imports. Patagonia’s Darwin has incredibly beautiful offspring. In addition to exceptional good looks, perfect bite, and charm, Darwin has a wonderful disposition that he passes on to his cria. Patagonia’s Darwin is out of Danko, one of the top producing Silver Grey Males in the country! Danko has sired many top National Award Winning progeny; too numerous to list. Darwin has a compact body, great structure, bone, coverage, density, and a handsome correct headpiece. Darwin has produced color champions, reserve color champions, and lots of first place winners along with also having his own outstanding show record. In 2002, Darwin took 2nd place at the All American Futurity, Blue Ribbon at 2002 Alpacapalooza show, and a blue at the 2002 AOBA National Show. On November 1, 2015, Charlize had a beautiful light rose grey girl, Shannon, from our EPD juggernaut herdsire, Chupulu! Charlize is a wonderful mother with lots of milk. Charlize's 2017 cria is a light fawn girl from our 7x Champ grey herdsire, Ambrose!

MC Escher-Art In Motion

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn, Medium Fawn
AOA# 31802413DOB: 4/1/201014 yrs
Escher, named after the well-known artist M.C. Escher, is a handsome macho with impressive genetics and extreme appaloosa markings. Escher's fiber is nothing short of luscious with incredible fineness (16.1 as a 3 year old). Combine that fineness with high frequency, high amplitude bundling and you have incredibly nice fiber. Escher's EPDs are quite impressive, including an AFD of -1.498, ranking him 1402 of 21089 in the nation! His sire, 6 Peruvian Ninaya, was hand selected in 1998 by Dr. Julio Sumar, who considered him one of the top males available to be imported from Peru. Ninaya is known for stamping his offspring with his extremely dense fleece, well-defined crimp, and refined hand. Escher's dam, Derwydd Luciano's Luluy, added great staple length and fineness to his overall fiber quality. Escher's grandsire on his dam's side is El R Peruvian Luciano a GREY full Alianza herdsire who has produced many champions. Luluy's dam, Fista, (3/4 Accoyo) has also produced champions. So Escher certainly carries the GENETICS to produce exceptional offspring. If you appreciate the uniqueness of appaloosas and would like to add to or expand your selection, Escher is not one to miss. Escher is now proudly co-owned with Morning Beckons Alpaca Farm in Connecticut.
