HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Phenom is an essential black male to consider for a breeding program. He is big and strong. His conformation and coverage are excellent. Even though he is a bit older, his fleece is retaining softness and character. It is bright with a lovely handle. He features stunning bloodlines, and is a very efficient and effective breeder. All of his cria have been female until our own Fausto was born in fall 2016. How could you not be interested in a nice true black herdsire who throws female cria consistently? Phenom is ready to go to work for you! Phenomenon is a proven herdsire with all female crias on the ground so far. His 2013 bay black daughter, Cecelia, did well for herself in the show ring. He also threw his first grey girl, named Constance, in 2014. She has the potential to be truly exceptional and award-winning. From Black to Fawn to Grey, these girls all have elegance, style, and AWESOME, extremely long staple length fleece! Phenomenon’s conformation mirrors his sire the late 6Peruvian Conan. They are both tall with exceptional coverage and similar head styles. Phenomenon's pedigree is, well, phenomenal! His maternal grandsire is the famous Bolivian Black Thunder. He is a paternal half brother to the multi-champion Peruvian Lancaster. He is maternal half-brother to the grey multi-champion Victoria's Hamilton. And, now, Phenomenon is now passing these outstanding genetics on to his offspring. Phenomenon has a quiet confidence that commands attention. Whether he is in the pasture, show ring, or in “with the girls," this show-stopping male is a sight to behold. He is truly a phenomenon - his fiber is getting a tighter crimp as he ages, yet he is maintaining a beautiful, buttery soft handle! Note: All seven of Phenom's cria to date have been female!

Beautiful Dark Grey!

Petunia is a rare dark silver grey girl with a classic tuxedo pattern on her face and torso, but dark grey fleece in good coverage down her legs. Her fleece has great handle and staple length. She has an interesting lineage that includes the notable grey Peruvian import Peruvian Macusani. Petunia has very nice, square conformation and fleece coverage. Petunia is easy to handle, and gets along well with all the other girls in her group. Petunia gave birth in August 2012 to a beautiful blue ribbon-winning dark rose grey boy named Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit out of our fantastic male Mesquite's Tropical Storm. Gabe has the same crimp and softness Stormy is throwing on all of his cria. Gabe has exceptional fleece and conformation, and has found a place as one of our junior studs. Nice work Petunia! Petunia is presently bred to our true black boy Conan's Phenomenon for a spring 2015 cria. We are very impressed at what Petunia’s genetics have provided for us, and are very excited to see what else she can throw in the future!

Description

HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Nise is a princess. She walks with grace and elegance. She is always the last one in the barn at feeding time and simply cannot be rushed. When fed hay or supplement, she gets her choice of feeding spot. She is very charming and friendly with people. Her conformation stands out. It makes her appear even more regal! Her fleece is wonderfully soft with nice character. Nise is a fine grey female who will add color and majesty to a lucky breeding program! Nise was our second cria of spring 2015. She is a very cute dark silver grey--very similar in appearance to her mother Petunia. Nise has a very unsual lineage for a tuxedo grey alpaca; she will fit into any grey breeding program. Nise is named for Nise da Silveira, a 20th Century Brazilian psychiatrist. After graduating from the Medical School of Bahia in 1926 as the only woman in a class of 158, she devoted her life to psychiatry--disagreeing with the aggressive forms of treatment common at that time such as commitment to psychiatric hospitals, electroshock, and lobotomy. In 1952 she founded the research center "Museum of Images of the Unconscious" in Rio de Janeiro In 1956, she created the "Palms House," a clinic for former patients of psychiatric institutions, where they could freely express their art and be treated as outpatients on a daily basis. She was also a pioneer in researching emotional relationships between patients and animals, whom she used to call co-therapists. In recognition of her work, da Silveira became a founding member of the International Society for Psychopathological Expression in Paris, France.
