HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn
AOA# 200000691, CLAA# DOB: 8/3/200420 yrs
**This male has also put black on the ground!!!! ________________________ A SUPER SAM son in the USA! In light fawn! Quicksand has his own championship merits to stand on, but his ancestry backs him up. Normally, these generics are held close to the vest and not shared. We believe in moving the industry forward in measured increments. So we will sparingly share this male. Quicksand is a multiple champion Super Sam son. His dam is a dam of SUPREME champions. Normally we don't need to say much more...but we can and will... Quicksand has all the attributes which make him the "ideal" alpaca: - sound, well balanced "box-like" conformation, which moves flawlessly - great bone density on a fully covered and upright frame - excellent head shape, with a correct bite - calm temperament - heavy fleece which is: easily parted - ultra fine super bright - uniform long in staple length organized and even in crimp style He is truly one of the males that makes you stop what you are doing and just stare. He is the complete package. So go ahead, we don't mind. Stare. For he is stunning. Then take the judges' advice...breed all your females to this guy...he is the real deal. ________________________________ For the breeders who know Super Sam…no explanation is needed. Quicksand is a multiple champion Super Sam son. And Westwind Aleta produces SUPREME CHAMPION offspring. For those who haven’t heard of Super Sam…he is THE 16x Get-of-Sire award winning sire…THE Futurity winning herdsire male….THE herdsire to Futurity and Color and Supreme Champions in a whole array of colors….THE stud who changed the way the Canadians defined a true impact stud sire…THE stud who is CLOSED to outside breedings….and, of course, THE sire…to Quicksand.

Dam: Absolut Melody

True Black with Rare Bloodlines

Absolut Melody

HuacayaOpen (Female)True Black
AOA# 31527934DOB: 9/23/200816 yrs
HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Melody is a lovely alpaca with a curious disposition. A non-fading black, her conformation is solid and she is a joy to view out in the pasture. She gets along well with others. A charming alpaca, she always seems to have her ears forward and likes to pose for the camera. Also, as her name suggests, she sings! We believe she would make a fine pet! Melody is a compact female with solid conformation and coverage. She has excellent handle and staple length to her fleece. Melody also has a gentle and curious personality. Melody is quite charming in her vocal talents. She is a singer—especially at feeding time—and freely voices her opinions! Melody's pedigree is unusual. Her mother Constanza arrived in utero during one of the last importations; these last tightly screened importations represent some of the rarest and best lineages in the U.S. herd. Melody's father is the highly decorated Absolut from the breeding program of Alpacas of America. Her paternal grandfather is the renowned Peruvian Guellermo. Melody gave birth in May 2013 to her first cria: a cute rose grey boy with presence and excellent softness, named Enrico, out of our champion-producing grey male MFI Toledo. She gave birth in June 2014 to her first girl--a beautiful bay black cria out of our award-winning stud Mesquite's Tropical Storm. The combination of Melody’s and Stormy’s genetics resulted in Jocelyn, who can best be described as demonstrating the total alpaca package. Jocelyn is a prime example of what Melody is capable of throwing.

Description

Kip is our eighth new cria of 2015, and second little boy (breaking a string of six straight girls!). Kip has an active and mischievous personality--he was already spitting at his handlers at two days old when we were putting a coat on him for a cool night! Our early impression is Kip could be a very nice boy. He has dense, crimpy fleece and great conformation. He has great bloodlines on both sides of his pedigree, including his paternal grandfather--the highly decorated Super Sam. Kip is named for Kip Stephen Thorne, who is an American theoretical physicist. Dr. Thorne is known for his contributions in gravitational physics and astrophysics. A longtime friend and colleague of Stephen Hawking and Carl Sagan, he was the Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology, and is one of the world's leading experts on the astrophysical implications of Einstein's general theory of relativity.
