Description
Sassy is undoubtedly one of the best female harlequin Huacaya alpacas in North America.
I first saw Sassy two days after bringing home her maternal half-sister, Skyeview Mozzarella. I adore Ella, but I could not take my eyes off Sassy. She was possessed of that perfectly square frame, broad chest, big bone, full fleece coverage and masculine head that I ultimately want to see in all of my alpacas. There was not one thing that I would change about her type -- and she was in my absolute favorite color, harlequin silver grey. I was in love.
Unfortunately, so was her owner! Sassy was not for sale at that time. It was not until nearly a year later that I received the call that Sassy was to be for sale, and I was thrilled to be offered the first opportunity to purchase her. Of course, it was without question that this girl had to join our foundation herd.
The outstanding build and type that so caught my eye also caught the eye of the judges. These traits, along with her fantastic fleece weight and beautiful crimp, helped make Sassy undefeated at halter. Out of five shows, she has five blue ribbons and a championship, all from major northeast shows. In addition to her stunning type, Sassy's fiber is beautiful, producing an abundance of outstanding, soft, ultra-dark silver grey yarn.
We are thrilled at the opportunity to have Sassafras here at our farm. She will be an integral foundation member of our elite harlequin Huacaya program!
Sassy's little girl is here! She had a rough start (born with neonatal maladjustment syndrome), but Sassy has been a patient dam, and she is now thriving. Her fleece looks like it is going places.
