"It's true, we sold Mile High Tahona's sire, El Nino's Golden Legend because we feel Tahona will carry on his legacy for our breeding program as well as yours. This male is young just two years of age and already has earned 11 Championships at highly respectable shows."- Sharon Loner, Mile High Alpacas. Mile High Tahona is everything we could ask for in a herdsire. We knew the first time we looked at him that we had to have him. His fleece is absolutely stunning, and his conformation is perfect. Tahona's pedigree speaks for itself. He is quite the gentleman, with a calm presence and an intelligence you can feel when he looks at you. Although Tahona is retired from halter shows to pursue his career as a herdsire, his fleeces are still winning top awards. Tahona has cria on the ground and they are better than we could have hoped. They all have his good bone density, outstanding fiber, outstanding conformation and beautiful face, as well as that little twinkle in their eyes that promises great things. Tahona is currently closed to outside breedings.

Loads of long, white, crimpy fiber on this big beautiful girl. As a cria, Crystal was a "silky", and since has changed to very long, high amplitude stunning shiny fiber. Crystal packs a power house of lineage, carrying Caligula, Goliath, Felix, Fandango, Bueno, Royal Fawn, and Leon. Crystal is a strong boned tall girl, but her claim to fame is the amazing amounts of stunning fleece she produces. Her 3 year old blanket was 8lbs. She is the fiber producers dream. Crystal has been solely bred to Mile High Tahona, our 13x blue ribbon winner and 5 x champion and son of the Fabulous El Ninos Golden Legend. This match has been outstanding, and produced incredible cria. Update 2014: Crystal delivered a stunning biege Mile High Tahona son who weighed in at 22 lbs at birth! He has amazing bone and size, only to be topped by his dense luxurious fleece. Touch of Gold followed in his mothers footsteps, by being a silky at birth. Crystal is a great mom, with plenty of milk and (mostly) delivered this big guy without help, even though he was her first. (I couldnt help not giving just a few tugs because of his size!) He produces massive amounts of stunning fiber, like his dam. Crystal is bred back to Tahona for a 2016 cria. Touch of Gold has sold Update 2016: Crystal has again impressed us with a beautiful beige/white girl that has really raised the bar. Just like her brother, she was born a silky, with amazing amounts of extra bright fleece. She weighed in just short of 20 lbs at birth, with the big frame and strong bone we are seeing in this cross. At 8 months Glow has 4" of staple length. She looks like a cotton ball with legs. We have made the Crystal/ Tahona cross a foundation of our herd. She has already sold. Crystal is again bred to Tahona for a 2017 cria. 2017: Crystal and Tahona gave us another girl! She was 21 lbs at birth and is, again, a silky. Trinket is a lt fawn with the most stunning fiber we have seen yet.. She is loaded with fiber and at 6 weeks is 10 lbs heavier than the other crias. Im keeping this one Crystal sells with a breeding to any of our awesome herd sires. I highly encourage a breeding to Mile High Tahona

Description

This sweet boy is a powerhouse of fiber. Gold was over 22 lbs when he was born, with the big strong bone of his sire, and the beautiful long legs and neck of his mother. Gold was born a silky which grew into a strong dense LONG fleece. The amount of fiber Gold produces is amazing. Apparently this is a family trait, as both his full sisters first year fleeces are exactly the same. This is a strong cross, and the Crystal/ Tahona cross will continue here as a foundation line. Gold packs amazing bloodlines, including Caligula, El Nino, Bueno, Felix, Fandango, Salute, Golden Legend, and many others. His sire, Mile High Tahona, has an impressive show and breeding career. Gold has the strong bone and large frame of both parents but has his dams clean face, which is not favored in the show ring. He took only a few ribbons in halter due to the clean face, in the typically huge light colored classes, but the fact that he took ribbons anyway, testifies to his fiber quality. If you are looking for great lineage, and fabulous fiber, this boy will fulfill your needs. If matched with a full faced female, you might just get a show stopper. Regardless, he will consistently give you tons of gorgeous fiber. Gold will also pack a big punch in any breeding plan.
