Exciting Rose Grey From Two Champions

5C's Contesto

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Rose Grey
AOA# 31755016DOB: 9/16/201014 yrs
Contesto is the son of two of our Champions Cereza Negra and Sparks and he has not disappointed us. He capped off the Spring 2012 Show Seaason with a blue ribbon at AOBA Nationals in Kentucky. At PAOBA he earned three blue ribbons and a Res. banner. He's small in stature, but one judge described him as a "tank" due to his very solid build. He's a fleece producing machine!!!! His fine, dense, fleece is very consistent with beautiful character and the judges at MAPACA and PAOBA placed it first and Res. The combination of all of the above have served him well in the showring and in the fleece room. Extreme temperatures during the AOBA Show in Kentucky affected Contesto and we almost lost him. Obviously, he survived but we weren't certain of his reproductive capability. He's a strong willed male and ........We are thrilled that we have 3 confirmed pregnancies from him and can't wait for his first crias to arrive this year. At 4+years of age Contesto still carries a consistent fleece with a micron of 15.9 and incredible brightness. Come visit the farm to see Contesto!!!!! ********Sadly, we lost Contesto in June of 2015. I leave this entry so that his two beautiful crias will have their sire's wonderful achievements included on their information.

Unusual grey undertones in this fleece.

5C's Christine

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Fawn
AOA# 32035698DOB: 8/13/201113 yrs
When I decided to breed Black Tie Affair to Bevo, Chris thought I had lost my mind. When Christine was born he actually admitted that it had been a good idea. This female is a well-built, solid girl with a beautiful fleece. Her medium fawn fleece is extremely dense with a high frequency crimp and wonderful staple length. Interestingly, we are seeing grey undertones in this fleece. This female's coloration is what is referred to as a fading fawn. Christine recently delivered a beautiful fawn male sired by Greytness. Chopper is a solid male in every aspect. His conformation is solid and correct. His fleece is dense and fine with beautiful brightness and structure and amazing staple length. He was on our spring 2018 showstring and has been sold as a herdsire. Christine was recently bred to Zephyrson for her 2020 cria.

Description

Contesta is the only female sired by our beautiful Contesto before he died. We just love this little girl. Although she isn't grey like her sire, she does have a visible grey pattern in her fawn fleece. We plan to breed her to Greytness in the spring of 2019.
