Ryder is a gorgeous True Black male that we are proud to have in our herdsire lineup! Do you want BEAUTIFUL, crimpy, bright and uniform fleece???...RYDER has it! Do you want a refined and beautiful head???...RYDER has it!! Do you want a strong history of color???...RYDER has it!!! Do you want a strong history of winners???...RYDER has it!!!! Do you want color AND Caligula bloodlines???...RYDER has it!!!!! Do you want GREY???...Ryder can do it!!!! Do you want to breed to a COLOR CHAMPION and Multiple BLUE ribbon winner???...RYDER is IT!!!!!! Look no further, come and check out Ryder and you will agree, this boy has everything you want to pass along to your next generation of crias. Beautiful, Bright and BLACK crimp from skin to bundled tips. Soft and buttery handle when you work your hands into his fleece. A stylish head, perfect conformation and excellent presence. A Color Champion himself and also hailing from a line of Color Champions including his sire, Maple Brook Sapphire and his paternal Grandsire, Brittany's Desparado, who is a multiple Blue ribbon winner and Get of Sire winner at the Big E in 2002! Plus his Dam's side which includes the legendary Caligula! Take a look at Ryder's histogram and note that ***these numbers reflect his fiber stats at 9 YEARS of age!*** Though many of the cria that Ryder has sired at Pronkin' Pastures are lighter in color, make no mistake, he can and does throw black! We have very few black females in our herd and chosen to breed him to many of our lighter colored girls. Interested in seeing more of Ryder's fantastic offspring? Take a look at his offspring record on Alpacas of Alagaesia's 'sold' listing page. In the interest of keeping genetic diversity in our herd, we will consider breed trades and lease options. Contact us for details. Ryder has been a great asset to our herd and think he can add value to yours too!

Dam: Winsome Willow of Pronkin' Pastures

Winsome Willow of Pronkin' Pastures

HuacayaOpen (Female)Beige
AOA# 31379427DOB: 9/19/200816 yrs
This sweet, petite girl has it all! Her conformation is correct, she is densely covered with fine, crimpy and bright fiber, and has a very easy-going and friendly disposition! Not only does Willow produce some of the best fiber on the farm, she is also produces some of our best crias! Willow gives birth quickly and without assistance and is a great mom - lots of milk, very attentive, yet extremely trusting of us to perform daily health checks on her baby. Willow's first cria, Laycee, is a light fawn female sired by our dark brown herdsire, Chocolate Chip. Laycee is very fine and dense, seems to have inherited all of Willow's good personality qualities, so we couldn't resist adding her to our foundation herd, too. Willow second cria, Luc, is a stunning male (sired by our SCF Black Ryder) in a dark brown color. We are thrilled with the quality and dark color of this cria! In July 2015, Willow gave birth to a another female cria - Shelby! Also sired by our SCF Black Ryder, Shelby is all that we were hoping for - densely covered with richly colored bundles of fiber, on a solid frame. Shelby has a sweet and curious personality to boot! We are so happy to have another quality cria out of this pairing.

Description

Sweet Shelby! This girl has become a farm favorite. Shelby is the result of pairing our favorite female, Winsome Willow, with multiple color champion SCF Black Ryder. Accoyo Plantel boodlines coming from Willow's side, and Caligula from Ryder's side. We bred Willow and Ryder once before and were thrilled to get a gorgeous dark fawn male that we expect to be adding to our herdsire line-up. We like Lucas so much that we figured we couldn't go wrong with the pairing of his parents again - and we were not disappointed! Shelby is just what we hoped for... She is a healthy, robust girl with very fine dark fawn fiber and nice conformation. Though Shelby is petite in stature, her first shearing yielded a cria fleece of over 2 pounds of silky, soft fiber with over a 5" staple length. We are listing Shelby as a non-breeder due to the fact that she has a skin condition that appears to be hereditary. It presents itself as hair loss on her ears and very thick, scaly skin on her belly. That said, she has gorgeous fiber - and a very friendly disposition!
