FRE Andean Goldrush

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Dark Fawn
AOA# 32620481DOB: 8/30/201212 yrs
Goldrush is a compact, sturdy male with excellent conformation, a fully fibered head, to die for fleece, and a great temperament to boot. He is the product of a lovely Peruvian Zephyrus daughter and Sunset Hills Andean Gold, winner of the fiber industry award for fleece! He looks just like Dad, and anyone who knows Andean Gold knows that he won one of his multiple championships and Judge's Choice at nine years of age! Goldrush takes the best of both these iconic lines and blends them into one phenomenal package. Fresh off an impressive performance at the Showtacular, Goldrush was praised for his brightness, organization, consistency and density. He is outstanding, and we have started breeding him on what is sure to be an outstanding breeding career. We offer half interest. Goldrush's first cria has arrived! A handsome BROWN male out of a white dam! Who would have thunk it?? Guess the color is certainly coming through. His 2nd cria, also from a white dam, looks to be either medium or dark fawn with Dad's vicuna pattern. Goldrush added a beige female from LF dam Rockette. 3 great looking crias. You're welcome to come visit them and will be seeing them in the ring next Spring! For 2017 crias we've taken Goldrush to darker dams, dark fawn and black. UPDATE: Goldrush's boy Lunar has been tearing up the Spring '17 show season. He just returned from MAPACA with a 1st place in the Small Breeder's Show in a class of 8. He followed that up with a flip-flop with his 2nd place competitor in the Jubilee in a class of 11. His brother Copper will join him this fall once we sort out his rose grey situation on his 2nd fleece.

Dam: Hidden Pastures Z Magic Moon

Little Miss Super Fine!

Hidden Pastures Z Magic Moon

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 32613827DOB: 8/8/201212 yrs
A pretty white girl that has the solid bone of her sire. Z Magic Moon is the daughter of Z-Revelation, a Zephyrus son. He has produced many nice crias for us and they all tend to have his look. Square, solid proportions with big bone and lots and lots of fleece, this time in a friendly, petite package. Z Magic Moon is no exception to this as she looks like a young Z-Rev to us. She has a beautiful bright fleece with exceptional crimp and consistency and she is covered from head to toe. Her mother, Moon Magic is very sweet and easy to work with. Her fleece has been a grade 1 when sorted two years in a row now. I'm certain that was inherited from her sire, Moonlight who still has a low micron at 7 years of age. Her daughter Z Magic Moon has her sweet nature and her fine fleece. Just check out these numbers from her 3rd fleece (2 years, 9 mos): AFD 17.6 SD 2.7 CV 15.1% 0.2% > 30 microns. (99.8% comfort factor!) Her 4th fleece (2016) we ran through the ODFA and it was even more impressive! While pregnant, she posted a 19.4 AFD 3.1 SD and 16% CV. That incredible consistency brought the Spin Fineness down to 18.2 microns and a 99.7% Comfort Factor. Add to that a measly 5.8% Medullated Fibers and a 48.9 Curvature! For her first cria, we bred her to our boy Goldrush, in hopes that he'll push his gorgeous dark fawn color onto her lovely fine, consistent fleece. 7/6/16 - Color it is! A very handsome med/dark fawn boy from our Goldrush. Very nice sized cria (~15 lbs) for her. 4/17 - Magic Moon's first cria, Lunar, is a blue ribbon winner!

Description

Magic Moon has the best fleece on this farm. Our goal was to try and pull some of the color out of this amazing white fleece. We bred her to our boy Goldrush in hopes that he'd push his stunning color and density onto her fine, fine white fleece. Boy, did we get what we were hoping for. Lunar has the brightest of fawn fleeces, with a very advanced organization and crimp. He's got Mom's fineness too. Let's not forget pedigree either. Lunar's sire, Goldrush, is the product of all-everything herdsire Sunset Hills Andean Gold and a Peruvian Zephyrus daughter. We' double dipped in the Zeph gene pool on this one as Magic Moon's sire is a Zeph son. Her maternal grand dam is a Bolivian import, bringing some influential hybrid vigor to the breeding. Lunar's pedigree includes Peruvian Hemingway, 5Peruvian Santana and Accoyo imports Victor, Timoteo, and El Moustachio. Lunar took to the ring for the first time as an 8 month old. Despite being the smallest in his class, he rose to 3rd of 10 in a loaded class at Northeastern Expo. He followed that up with another 3rd at the Bay State Small Breeders Blast. The only concerns were regarding color inconsistency as he fades from a dark fawn top line to nearly white in his chest and belly. Very curious to see what he looks like after shearing. Update: Lunar just received his first blue ribbon at MAPACA!! Despite being the youngest and smallest in his class, when sandwiched next to the 2nd place male, Lunar's stunning brightness and superior fineness won the judge over as she awarded him 1st place. In the Jubilee show, Sharon Loner chose the 2nd place male over Lunar for his size, while conceding the same edges in brightness and fineness. "Look at him standing there, he's special and he knows it" - Amanda Vandenbosch "Finest and brightest in the class (of 11)" - Sharon Loner "Advanced architecture and organization, bundles within bundles and his brightness and fineness carried him to the top of the class" - Stephanie Glyptis Lunar has matured nicely in his 2nd year. He placed within a point of the CC and RC at the Showtacular Walking Fleece and placed 4th in his MAPACA walking fleece class behind 3 multi champions and not by much. ****UPDATE: We can no longer show Lunar in halter due to a developmental injury to his manhood. Because this appears to be an environmental issue (we're happy to discuss with you further), we do still envision him as a breeder. We'll be trying him this summer to see if he's fertile.
