ELK Fantasy Lady

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Fawn
AOA# 31134705DOB: 11/13/200717 yrs
ELK Fantasy Lady is the daughter of Double "O" Good Herdsire Hall of Fame male, ELK Hercules. Like her father she has his regal presence and stature. She has excellent conformation and bite. Her blanket is dense, but admittedly lacking in crimp and bundling at this age. If you are looking for a solid foundation female, look no further. She has truely been a great mother, feeding her cria well (she could be a dairy cow) and passing on her calm demeanor and good fleece density. Lady is a fading medium to dark fawn with grey coloration on her muzzle. She has a tendency to throw the color of the sire. She should be bred for fineness and increased staple length. Lady had a dark fawn female with white underbelly "Mirage," June 3, 2017, by 3/4 Accoyo Heatwave, making the baby 3/8 Accoyo, 3/4 Peruvian. Density, architecture and length of the fleece looks awesome. Mirage was placed in the "brown females" group for the Wisconsin Alpaca & Fiber Fest and took 4th - not too shabby. Not as much staple length and density as those above her. June 24, 2018, again Lady did not disappoint. Another girl, we named "Fantasma". This one, a dusty medium fawn with no white. She is Soft Shinook's first offspring - and we will definately be using him again this year. Royal Fawn was know for extreme brightness and shine and it seems to have come through to this great-grandaughter. June 23, 2019 - another girl! By Shinook again. But this little one is a fading light fawn, with white on her face. Long staple length and growing well (50 pounds at 4 months, 70 at 6 months), nice crimp to the fleece but lacking in density. The light fawn doesn't hold the shine like on darker Fantasma.

Description

Sydney is sired by ELK Titan Clash's American Bounty, a son of renowned MFI Peruvian Titan's Clash. She is a gorgeous light fawn and her fleece has a buttery, soft handle, with consistent and tight crimp style. Her fleece is on the shorter side (lacking length) and it loses character towards the shoulder and hips. She does, however, have a personality unlike any other! (No kidding there). Sydney was shown at 2015 American Alpaca Showcase. 2nd in a class of 3 "light" 2 year old females. Sydney lacked in fineness and substance of bone, compared to 1st place, but had nicer and more consistent fleece characteristics, but not enough to overcome the lack of fineness. At 2016 WisAFF, 3rd out of 3, again lacked fineness compared to the others and substance of bone. Sydney had a light fawn girl (on 3/28/17, named Vixen) out of multi-champion Millennium's Ventura (aka, Vinnie) who has 5 Color Championships and 3 Reserves, all at big shows. Vixen is now bred for 2020 and is available for sale. Sydney gave another light fawn girl (6/12/19) by Soft Shinook (beige grandson of Royal Fawn) - we've named her Camira. The little peanut was struggling to stand within minutes. She got Sydney's spunk! Camira is darker than Sydney's previous cria, Vixen. At 6 months old, Camira is 70 pounds. At this price, Sydney comes with a breeding to any of our males. Try for grey with Thunderbolt. Or darker, with Awakening. If you want white, go with Sergio. Camira is available separately.
