Bonsai is sired by one of the best-known colored sons of PCA Accoyo El Nino, El Nino's Accoyo Michelangelo. Accoyo Mike, as he is known by his owners, has sired alpacas of every color from white to true black, including greys. Bonsai's sire line is anchored by El Nino, one of the best-known sons of Pperuvian Caligula G4572, arguably one of the most prepotent import males ever to be imported.

Annie is one of first Chieftain daughters. Out of a fine fibered Accoyo/Alianza dam, Annie has the conformation and fiber characteristics to be a solid foundation female for a light or colored breeding program. She was bred to Charles P. Atlas for her first cria, a head turning medium fawn male. Her next breeding to Accoyo Principe Dorato produced a beige female in June 2013. Annie is an attentive mom, produces loads of milk, and births easily.
