Included in that competition was the White Color Champion at the AOBA 2005 Fleece Show. The judge, Cameron Holt, the world's foremost expert on alpaca fiber, took one look at Cochiti's fleece and said, "Well, we can pack up and go home now. This is it." Cochiti's extremely dense, crimpy fleece with incredible staple length impressed us so much we put a group together to purchase this male before he had begun breeding, and he has not let us down. Cochiti has settled nine females so far, all on the first attempt. He not only brings the genetics of his sire Augusto, but also the possibility of color since his dam is dark brown.
