Congratulations to Derwydd Alpacas for honoring Zeppelin with a place on their esteemed herd sire row. Zeppelin is no longer available for outside breedings at Delphi Alpacas. **Zeppelin is the 2013 AOBA National Black Male Fleece COLOR CHAMPION** This with his 4th fleece - the judges do enjoy rewarding older fleeces that retain superb qualities. Congratulations to Snowmass Alpacas on their purchased of one black Zeppelin daughter, plus 3 of our black females bred to Zeppelin; as well as another female bred to him from a client's farm. We'll be watching for his genetics under the Snowmass name. Zeppelin's first baby to ever show, fawn Zeppelin's Rainsong, purchased by The Alpaca Group, won a color championship at her first show! We are honored that Zeppelin's genetics have also been chosen by Pacific Crest Alpacas / Accoyo America. Histogram's: 5-2-09: AFD 15.7 / SD 2.8 / CV 18.0 / 0.2 % >30 6-9-10: AFD 16.9 / SD 2.9 / CV 16.9 / 0.4% >30 5-9-11: AFD 17.7 / SD 3.3 / CV 18.4 / 0.8 % >30 5-11-12: AFD 19.8 / SD 3.9 / CV 19.7 / 2.1% >30 Shearing Weight 2009: 6 pounds total = 7.2 pounds annualized. 2010: 9.5 pounds total = 8.75 pounds annualized 2011 = 10.1 pounds annualized 2012 = 10.8 pounds annualized Zeppelin is throwing lots of black. From black based dams his early production totals were: From 8 TB dams he has thrown 3 TB, 1 DSG, 3 BB, and 1 DF cria. From 2 BB dams he threw 1 BB and 1 LF cria. From 4 Silver greys (black base) he threw 3 TB and 1 MB. But regardless of color - with Zeppelin it's ALL about the fleece quality - for example look at his daughter Tessla's fleece at lower right - she sold for $18,000 at auction, after being awarded CC, Best Brightness and Best Hand at the Alpacamania Fleece Show. Tessla's yearling histogram: AFD 12.7, SD 2.0, CV 15.6, %>30 0.0. (!!) My pick of our entire litter last year was his daughter Deltana - a fawn with the kind of fleece we dream of. Congratulations to Bari Padgett on her purchase of Deltana! Zeppelin's dad, Taos, a stunning Legacy son, had a 22.9 AFD at 7 yrs. Zeppelin's mom tested at 21.3 AFD at 7 years as well. Zeppelin also offers correct conformation, impressive presence, size, coverage, and substance of bone. His crimp, luster and dense lock structure are stunning - staple length is extreme. Zeppelin is full Peruvian and 3/8 Accoyo. We thank David and Julie Wroblewski for allowing us to add Zeppelin to Delphi Alpacas' herd sires.

Appeline hasn't wanted to get pregnant for the past few years - so she's unavailable at this time. Here's hoping she changes her mind! ** AFD 17.7 with CV of 13 at 9 months of age ** Five Blue Ribbons and Two Championships ** The 2007 Brown National Fleece Champion This little lady is one of the Very best. Super typey, a sweet little imp always in the middle of what's going on. And What a Fleece - I couldn't stop myself from putting my hands into it every chance I had after she was born - one of the Very Softest Handling fleeces I have Ever felt. Combine that with wonderful lock density and high frequency crimp - she's a winner. Simply stunning is what the judge commented when giving her the National brown Fleece Color Championship in Louisville 2007. And now we can really see why we love this fleece - the combination of an AFD of 17.7 with a CV of 13 - There's that Avatar Stamp - super fine with a Phenomenal CV. At the 2007 Fall Festival Fleece Show Appeline also won blue in a class of 6 - the Championship going to her medium brown 1/2 sister, Kokopelli's Song Topeka, another Avatar daughter that has won numerous Championships. In halter Appeline has won blue at the 2007 GWAS halter, and Reserve Champion at the 2008 SWRAS halter - and then won the Blue in the Bred & Owned yearling female class. Appeline's first baby is a beautiful dark brown Black Icecapade daughter, Delphi's Brina. Her second daughter, Manzanilla, was chosen for purchase and export to Europe. Appeline's 2012 fawn Zeppelin daughter Deltana is amazing - with one of the best fleeces we've produced. Deltana was purchased by Bari Padgett and is being bred to Super Sonic - wow! Appeline was then bred back to Zeppelin in hopes of another Deltana in 2014 - maybe in black? Sure enough! Her black daughter Zari is here and she is stunning. Now to see what Appeline gives us from Ike! Description

Congratulations to her new owners Buck Brook Alpacas! At her first show for them, she was selected Color Champion! Zari is just beyond adorable. Typey Typey Typey, perfectly straight and strong, a face to die for and a personality to match. Now add her silky fleece - yup I'd call her a "silky" for those who love that style. High luster and locks of bold crimp - very fine and soft. Mom and dad are both National Fleece Champions - so not a big surprise that this one is so special. Take a moment to visit her father's page - Zeppelin is a rock star. Zeppelin genetics have been selected by Snowmass Alpacas; Snowmass Alpacas purchased one superior black Zeppelin daughter, and three lovely black females (bred to Zeppelin) from us, for their black breeding program. Zeppelin has extraordinary fleece - please see his page for his long lasting fineness stats. Zari's mom, Appeline, has the honor of possessing the most uniform fleece ever produced here at Delphi (in over 20 years). She has little to No apparent guard hair anywhere on her - a trait passed down from her father Avatar. Appeline's National Color Champion juvenile fleece tested at: AFD 17.7 / SD2.3 / CV13.0 / 0.4 %>30. The SD and CV are exceptionally low, most notably for such a fine fleece. Please see her page for additional fiber results. Zari herself was shown as a juvenile without ever having been cria shorn. She placed 6th in a very tough class of 13 at Nationals at just barely 6 months of age. Then she placed 2nd in a class of 8 at Level 5 GWAS - where she was was compared very favorably with the winner of her class, who then went on to receive the RC black female, as a juvenile. We then showed her fleece at the extremely competitive National Show - she placed 5th in a class of 11. Very Nice considering she hadn't been cria shorn - which makes fleece shows especially challenging. It was a really tough decision - but we have decided to offer Zari for sale. You will absolutely love this young lady. ;^) Alpaca consulting AFD 17.7 - YM AFD - 16.9 - see histogram above. Imagine her bred to Multi-Champion silver grey Ike? ;^)
