Congratulations to our friend Annie Hunt of Willow Wind Farm, for acquiring a share of Avatar. Please contact Annie about Avatar breedings. We are thrilled with Avatar's newest creations - including Delphi's Avella - The 2017 National grey female halter Champion at just over 6 months of age. And congratulations to Avella's new owners, Debbie and Dale Hoerl; Alpacas of Moose Creek Ranch! Many more Avatar crias will be arriving in 2018. Avatar has beautiful crimpy, dense, and fine fleece, but what separates him from other outstanding herd sires, is his phenomenal handle - due to both exceptional uniformity, and very bright, low scale fiber. Cameron Holt, AOBA Senior Judge Trainer and world wide fiber expert, gave the following scores to Avatar's fleece: Fineness: 15 out of 15 ; Handle: 5 out of 5 ; Uniformity of micron: 7 out of 8 ; Crimp: 8.5 out of 10 ; Density: 3 out of 5 ; Brightness: 8 out of 10 ; Lack of medullation: 8 out of 10. His daughter Delphi's Lailah won Color Champion Grey Female Fleece at the 2012 Nationals. His son Delphi's Rama won a Blue Ribbon at the 2012 National Fleece Show, (and then brown Color Champion at the Tenessee Waltz Fleece Show). These two Avatar kids insured Delphi's win of the 2012 Classic Cup for fleece, at the 2012 Nationals. Another standout offspring is Kanaka - an 8X Champion with 1% EPD's in both SD and >30; and 2% EPD's in fineness. While we don't participate in the program, we agree Avatar's son Kanaka's EPD stats do reflect his sire's strong suits. Avatar's many other crias now include Six AOBA National Halter or Fleece Champions, several Futurity Champions, and many many many Multi-Champion and Blue Ribbon show winners, in addition to the winners of many Special Awards, such as the Best Brightness award at the National Fleece Show - the first time this award has been awarded to a grey. Please enjoy viewing some of his lovely crias and their fleeces, shown below. Vicki is simply an exceptional girl. She is a good sized girl with extremely dense and soft crimpy fleece. High frequency with high amplitude too. A beautiful light rose color, she is correct, straight and strong. Vicki delivered a gorgeous very dark brown Golden Legend son Iliad, who went on to win a blue ribbon in a class of 5 yearlings at GWAS 2015. Vicki has proven herself to be an excellent mom! Nothing more we could ask of this girl. Her next cria is another beautiful maroon boy, Pericles - so slick, crimpy and shiny - superior boy. As a juvenile he was awarded 2nd place at his first show - 2015 GWAS. Vicki was bred to Ike for her next cria, and gave us a Stunning silver girl - Bells & Whistles, we are over the moon. Repeating the breeding was a no brainer, and again she gave us an Ike daughter, Melya, that we could not be happier with. Thank you Vicki! ;^) Vicki is not available for purchase, and is currently residing at A Paca Fun Farm.

Description

Oh My - his fleece sure looks and feels amazing shorn! We are entering it in Nationals - in just a few weeks. Really an exceptional young man - from two champion grey parents - His mom is one of Delphi's best grey foundation dams = Victoria. Victoria is a daughter of Summer. Summer is the mother of Delphi's Elphi - Futurity RC now on her way to Germany. Victoria's dad is Deacon Grey. Peri's dad is Avatar - say no more. Avatar is a producer of 5 National Champions, in halter and in fleece, in brown and in grey. Peri has what you would expect from this excellent pairing - excellent conformation, bite, testicles, size - healthy and then there's that fleece - Fine, Bright, Beautiful. At level 5 GWAS he was awarded a 2nd place ribbon. That was his only showing so far - as it was the first show he was old enough to attend prior to shearing. We are eager tell you all about Peri - we don't keep a boy herd here, so now is a great time to inquire about bringing this boy home, as his pen mates will be leaving for their new homes soon. Ask for a fiber sample - you will be very pleased.
