Congratulations to our friend Annie Hunt of Willow Wind Farm, for acquiring a share of Avatar. Please contact Annie about Avatar breedings. We are thrilled with Avatar's newest creations - including Delphi's Avella - The 2017 National grey female halter Champion at just over 6 months of age. And congratulations to Avella's new owners, Debbie and Dale Hoerl; Alpacas of Moose Creek Ranch! Many more Avatar crias will be arriving in 2018. Avatar has beautiful crimpy, dense, and fine fleece, but what separates him from other outstanding herd sires, is his phenomenal handle - due to both exceptional uniformity, and very bright, low scale fiber. Cameron Holt, AOBA Senior Judge Trainer and world wide fiber expert, gave the following scores to Avatar's fleece: Fineness: 15 out of 15 ; Handle: 5 out of 5 ; Uniformity of micron: 7 out of 8 ; Crimp: 8.5 out of 10 ; Density: 3 out of 5 ; Brightness: 8 out of 10 ; Lack of medullation: 8 out of 10. His daughter Delphi's Lailah won Color Champion Grey Female Fleece at the 2012 Nationals. His son Delphi's Rama won a Blue Ribbon at the 2012 National Fleece Show, (and then brown Color Champion at the Tenessee Waltz Fleece Show). These two Avatar kids insured Delphi's win of the 2012 Classic Cup for fleece, at the 2012 Nationals. Another standout offspring is Kanaka - an 8X Champion with 1% EPD's in both SD and >30; and 2% EPD's in fineness. While we don't participate in the program, we agree Avatar's son Kanaka's EPD stats do reflect his sire's strong suits. Avatar's many other crias now include Six AOBA National Halter or Fleece Champions, several Futurity Champions, and many many many Multi-Champion and Blue Ribbon show winners, in addition to the winners of many Special Awards, such as the Best Brightness award at the National Fleece Show - the first time this award has been awarded to a grey. Please enjoy viewing some of his lovely crias and their fleeces, shown below. Ruby Rose is the dam of the famous grey herd sire, Mile High Deacon Grey, who was sold for $90,000. The Loners Purchased Ruby as a young girl. They chose well - she blossomed into the GWAS Grey Female Color Champion! Ruby Rose provided them with star cria after star cria. We are honored to have Ruby join our herd here at Delphi - where she will join the select queens in our Royal line up. Her cria include: Ruby Dee - 1-15-05 14X Champion Deacon Grey - 2-4-06 Raquel Jaxon - 7-9-07 Platinum Rose - 6-17-08 3X Champion Dorian Grey - 6-5-09 Maroon Bells - 6-23-10 Aeros - 6-5-13 Argo - 7-5-14 Delphi's Montreux - 6-22-16 Delphi's Rubacuori (heart stealer) - 7-2-17 Delphi's Petal - 4-30-19 Bred to Avatar - in July of 2014 Ruby gave us a gorgeous rose grey boy. Argo showed VERY well - only 1/2 point behind the RC at the huge National Fleece Show. Then bred to Ike - Oh we love Montreux. He'll be going to Europe. Then, Montreux's full brother - gorgeous bay black - Delphi's Rubacuori - (Italian for heart stealer). Ruby's last cria, "Petal" - is a Ruby Mini-Me. We could not be more thrilled. Ruby and Petal are enjoying Ruby's retirement at Delphi - - spoiled like the queen she is. Histogram taken from her 2014 shearing: 5-16-14 = AFD 23.5 / SD 5.2 / CV 22.0 / 9.3% >30

Description

This is one of Avatar's starz this year - excellent size, type, bone, head, crimpy beautiful boy. The judge's will love seeing this boy walk into the ring. He was awarded a third place at his first show - a very competitive class at Nationals. At the always competitive Futurity he was awarded a 2nd in a class of two. He still takes a proud picture with that ribbon! ;^) Watch and see how he does at GWAS, and come and get your hands on this beautiful boy. Second place at Nationals and just 1/2 a point from Reserve Champion in an extremely competitive grey group. His mom is the mother of Deacon Grey - and his dad is the incomparable Avatar. If you are looking for a very special rose grey male - be sure to add this one to your list.
