The Arch abides. What can we say about the apple of our eye? We love Archangel so much that his likeness is mounted atop our house in the form of a weathervane! Breeders always talk of finding the alpaca that is the complete package and Archangel is the closest thing to that that we have ever had the privilege of laying our eyes on. His fiber is the equal of any white alpaca we have come across in 20 years of breeding alpacas, yet it grows on a frame that is nearly perfect in form and function. The comments from the judges throughout the spring 2004 show seasons when comparing Archangel to his competition were always to the effect of "this animal was not tip shorn as a cria, and is therefore starting to mat at the tips, yet the fleece is gorgeous once you open it." In fact Archangel was shorn to the skin at 30 days of age (removing 1.5" to 2" at the time), yet is so fine and grows such a staple length that even with that shearing he still had on average anywhere from 2" to 3" inches more staple length than the vast majority of the animals he was in the ring with. Show record aside he was and remains to this day, in 2017, the real deal. We take great pride in the fact that our breeding program produced such an amazing Herdsire and the offspring that have resulted in the ensuing years have proven without any doubt that Archangel was and is no genetic fluke. His sons King of the Ladies (the 2010 White Futurity Champion) and Avenger along with a myriad of elite daughters here in the CCNF foundation herd are a continuing testimonial to the potency of his genetics. It is not by chance that some of the most important crias born here over the past several years were his grandchildren or even now great-grandchildren. Archangel is proudly co-owned with Stillmeadow Farm.

Description

We are proud to offer Archangel's Malachi as a herdsire option for our customers. He has outstanding phenotype, conformation, presence, and a fine, dense fleece, with excellent staple length! Malachi has been an impressive presence in the show ring, winning the Fawn Color Championship at the 2008 Empire Alpaca Extravaganza. He also took First Place at the 2008 Futurity, with Judge Amanda VandenBosch commenting that "he walked in the ring with a purpose and that he knows just how beautiful he really is!" She further noted that he had "the finest fleece in the class, with an amazing staple length, and has a bright healthy fleece with a beautiful handle. The complete package"! In addition, Judge Mike Safley awarded Malachi the Blue Ribbon at the 2008 North American in a huge class of fawn juvis. Malachi offers a unique combination of genetics, which includes Augusto, Mr President, Legacy, Snowmass Legacy Gold, Vengador, Bolivar, Drambuie, Don Julio, and, of course, CCNF Archangel (who is no longer available for outside stud services). Malachi's first crias have been taking the show ring by storm. ALL have taken home ribbons at prestigious, competitive shows . . . and Quarry Ridge Kaptain Karma took his first Championship Banner at the 2011 Big E, as well as a 1st at the 2011 NE Expo & 1st at the GMAFS. Quarry Ridge Sara Dipity, already sold at less than a year old, took 2nd Place at the NE Expo and 4th at the 2011 North American. Faraway Farm Nikiya placed 2nd in a tough class at the 2011 GMAFS and 5th in a large class at the NE Expo. At the 2012 Green Mtn show, Malachi's daughter, FBR Sophie's Dilemma took home the brown female Championship!
