PATAGONIA'S MARINELLA Patagonia's Marinella was the Brown Color Champion at Alpacapalooza in 2013 and won several blue ribbons in 2013-2014. She was assessed by Judge Amanda VandenBosch as an A- with strong points in all areas of conformation; as well as areas of fiber including fineness and handle, uniformity of micron, density, brightness, lack of medullation and coverage. Marinella's sire, Patagonia's Gaucho, is sired by the exotic Neruda who sold at auction for $200,000+ at the age of 8 years. Alpacas de la Patagonia stated, "Gaucho’s dam is one of our top true black females and descends from our top black female line. From this line, have come our most successful black alpacas such as Queen, Black Rose, Sombra, and Simone to name a few. All of these girls have won multiple black championships at level 5 shows and have all been AOBA National black color champions. Offspring: On 6/25/2015, Marinella presented us with ESTATES MATTERHORN, a gorgeous medium brown male sired by Andean’s Pegasus of Country Estates, our dark brown herdsire with Multi-Champion Genetics! You will fall in love with his fleece and with him! Estates Matterhorn has been a Champion since his juvenile days. There are not too many animals that go to a show as a juvenile, get a blue ribbon in a large class, and then go on to win the Championship for their color! This is what happened to this unique male. Matterhorn has magnificent fine, silky crimp, yet has enormous density. He is uniform in micron and staple length. I had to practically stand on my head to see his crimp structure still present in the middle of his belly! Matterhorn's fleece has beautifully bright, zipper crimp and is consistent on shoulder, hind end, and into his legs. You can see a beautiful lock structure in his head.
