We will start with a little history on Rockstar and Eldora Suri Alpacas. Rockstar was co-owned and stood stud at Eldora Suri Alpacas from 2007 to 2013 when he passed away. In 2009, a barn fire wiped out all of Eldora's Rockstar offspring. We started over. The second wave of Rockstar offspring hit the ground in 2011 and began winning at top shows in 2012. In 2013, Eldora Suri Alpacas won Futurity Breeder of the Year, Small Farm Division, based mainly on Rockstar offspring. As of 2018, Rockstar offspring and grand-offspring have won 10 Judge's Choice Awards for Eldora Suri Alpacas since 2014. For a small farm with a herd count hovering between 15 and 20 alpacas, that's a notable accomplishment. Rockstar was a Futurity Herdsire of the Year. The Futurity is a unique show that ultimately defines the performance of herdsires across the USA. It is a world class show that is considered more difficult than Nationals or any other show. Whether you participate in the Futurity competitions or not, you should pay attention to which sires and grandsires are producing the top winners in Get of Sire, Championships, Judge's Choice and Herdsires of the Year at The Futurity. These bloodlines are the key to improving performance in your own program. It is remarkable to see that a very large percentage of past and current Futurity award winners AND top 1% EPD rankers have bloodlines that trace directly back to Rockstar. Read on for some interesting 'Firsts', 'Lasts' and Rockstar Trivia: 1. The last Rockstar son to be born at Eldora was Eldora's Accoyo Bravo, in 2013. Bravo is co-owned with Silverfield Alpacas. Bravo is the only full Accoyo line bred Rockstar son, sporting double Torbio/Rene lineage on both sides of his pedigree. Bravo has the greatest resemblance to Rockstar himself. Bravo's first offspring hit the ground in 2017 and will be seen at the shows starting in 2018. 2. Rockstar produced the following sires that are not only well known for their own awards but have also produced many award winning offspring: Lazy G's Accoyo Goldstar, Accoyo Magnum, Eldora's Tempo, Eldora's Accoyo Talent, Eldora's Accoyo Maestro. 3. For the first time ever at the 2017 Suri Network Fleece Show, the coveted Spirit of the Industry award AND First Place Get of Sire were simultaneously won by the same alpaca. The winner was Eldora's Tempo by Rockstar, at 4.5 years of age. 4. Another first- Both Rockstar AND his son Maestro produced AOA Nationals Fleece Judge's Choice Winners: Eldora's Tempo by Rockstar (2014) and Silverfield's Marley by Maestro (2017). 5. Rockstar is the first sire to produce TWO Judge's Choice Winners at the Suri Network Fleece Show. The winners were Eldora's Tempo (2014) and Eldora's Accoyo Talent (2015). 6. The 2014 & 2015 Futurity Male Judge's Choice Winners are Rockstar Grandsons. And get this- each winner was sired by a different Rockstar son! Check back often for more Rockstar fun facts.

Dam: FDA CARMELLO'S ACCOYO CARMELITA

Congratulations Eric and Mandi!!

FDA CARMELLO'S ACCOYO CARMELITA

SuriOpen (Female)White
AOA# 31112901DOB: 5/31/200816 yrs
Carmelita is a stunning white female from the country's best suri accoyo genetics, including Carmello, Baron Lafite, Ramilo and Ganador. Her fleece demonstrates a high degree of independence in the locks, great luster, excellent fineness and a very high level of density. She is a solid female with perfect conformation. The strength of her genetics reflects what this girl brings to a breeding program. Carmelita's dam, Rico Samsara, was a dark fawn girl out of Ganador, and her sire is the award winning, Carmello. Although she is white (with a small brown spot on her shoulder), Carmelita passes through her service sire's color genetics as proven by all her cria. Her first cria sired by FDA's Captain Picasso, a champion bay black male, is Quintessence, a stunning bay black/mahogany female. When bred to white multi-champion, Rockstar, Carmelita delivered an awesome white male, Israel, proving she can deliver the superior white offspring as well. In 2015, Carmelita gave birth to a super dense, fine dark fawn male, KBTA's Kula, out of multi-champion fawn Maccoyo Maximum. This boy is a stunner and placed second in his first show, the prestigious 2016 Futurity. Carmelita had her stunning Josef son, named Cedrus Lebani, in September 2016. Full of soft, fine, lusterous fleece, Cedrus placed third in the competitive 2017 Futurity show as a six month old. Cedrus is super fine and very dense. He will start his breeding career in 2019. Carmelita is proven to be an excellent mom with great milk production and care free births. Although Carmelita was never shown in halter divisions, her fleece won first and second awards in fleece shows around the country. She is retaining her fineness and very low CV at 8 years old, which is a tribute to her great genetics. Carmelita's 2017 biopsy as a nine year old female showed a density of 55.75. Her S/P ratio is 12.1 and her micron spread is only 7.6 microns. According to Dr. Norm Evans, her strong points are her above average density, S/P ratio, gland presence and low S/P spread. These are excellent stats for a female her age. Carmelita's 2018 top EPDs rankings demonstrate her genetic prepotence: AFD--Top 2% SDAFD--Top 3% SF--Top 1% %>30--Top 1% %M--Top 1% MSL--Top 9% FW--Top 8%

Description

Israel is the last son of Rockstar, a distinction he would rather not have but it is what it is. If I had one feature I would call the most attention to with Israel, it would be luster. He shines from across the paddock. His conformation is perfect, although my lousy pictures may not demonstrate it enough. I never had the opportunity to show Israel and I probably should have sheared him as a cria but I allowed him to grow through his yearling fleece and, yes, it felted. I have kept it if you would like to see what he grew, his lock structure and length, his fineness and his luster. He's ready to breed and add some of those wonderful Rockstar qualities into your herd. He's priced to sell as I'm retiring and he won't have the opportunity to breed here. Full reproductive guarantees. And I'd be happy to make a really sweet package deal if you'd like to pick up a girl or two. I'd recommend Lombard and Rosie.
