His sire, PCA Accoyo El Nino is the 2004 AOBA National Get of Sire and Senior Champion of the 2001 International Alpaca Odyssey show. Caligula's son PCA Accoyo El Nino, was unquestionably one of the top impact sires in North America. El Nino is in high demand, so much so that Pacific Crest Alpacas raised El Nino's breeding fee to $10,000, and shortly thereafter eliminated outside breedings entirely. Legend's dam is Sophia del Sol, a light grey, 3/4 Peruvian sired by Peruvian Camilio. At her first show the AOBA Senior Judge commented on the micro bundling in Sophia's fleece and said, "The only thing wrong with this alpaca is it's not a male!" TexOLAN 2016 Breeders Best of Three entry with 3 Golden Legend juveniles at 7-8 months old and not cria shorn, Golden Legend placed 3rd in a class of 4 where all entries were yearlings except for our juvenile entry. The judges (Arturo Pena and Wade Geese) commented that all of the animals in our entry had long dense large fleeces for small bodies on juveniles - and then they put their hands into the fleeces again and smiled. After the awards were presented, the judges commented "the sire was the same in the Get entry as the Breeders Best - RIght?". We entered different juveniles in Get of Sire and Breeders Best - and the judges recognized the sire from the fleeces in both entries.

Calypso is white, packed with a large dense crimpy fleece. Dense and crimpy all the way up her neck and down her belly and hips and it is holding its special character as she matures and is busy making babies - WOW what more can you ask from a mature female Alpaca. We were so happy to have acquired Calypso and have been able to add her Sunset Hills genetics to our breeding program. Calypso's fleece is very much in line with the Sunset Hills breeding program - dense, long with a bold crimp and the Sunset Hills breeding program means ribbon winning fiber. Her sire is Sunset Hills Citation XL. Calypso loves babies – I mean loves babies. She tries to steal every baby born on the farm and is always the first female to sniff and welcome the new cria. Calypso is playful like her name and runs with the babies as they circle the pasture in the evenings. Calypso’s first cria is our All my Loven (Kisses) and Kisses is as friendly as her dam. Calypso is a good Mother, easy to breed, easy to birth and plenty of milk and very attentive to her baby - and good luck trying to steal her cria. Calypso 's 2015 El Nino’s Golden Legend cria is PrairieMoon's French Kiss Legend and she is all we hoped for - fine fleece, pretty face and conformationally correct. Calypso is bred by BMF Taos' Zeppelin for a 2016 cria and we are hoping to add some color to her fine fleece - will we have number 3 little girl?
