Zeppelin is the 2013 AOBA National Black Male Fleece Champion and sire to multiple champion offspring. With his fourth fleece, Zeppelin won the 2013 AOBA National Black Male Fleece Color Championship. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg on his accomplishments! Here are some of his fleece statistics - Fiber Stats: 2009 - AFD 15.7 / SD 2.8 / CV 18.0 / 0.2 % >30 2010 - AFD 16.9 / SD 2.9 / CV 16.9 / 0.4% >30 2011 - AFD 17.7 / SD 3.3 / CV 18.4 / 0.8 % >30 2012 - AFD 19.8 / SD 3.9 / CV 19.7 / 2.1% >30 2013 - AFD 20.4 / SD 4.1 / CV 19.9 / 3.0% >30 Shearing Weight: 2009 - 6 pounds total = 7.2 pounds annualized 2010 - 9.5 pounds total = 8.75 pounds annualized 2011 - 10.1 pounds annualized 2012 - 10.8 pounds annualized His Cria: – His first baby to ever show, fawn Zeppelin’s Rainsong, purchased by The Alpaca Group, won a color championship at her first show! – We are honored that Zeppelin’s genetics have also been chosen by Pacific Crest Alpacas / Accoyo America. – Snowmass Alpacas purchased from Delphi Alpacas (our co-owners of Zep), one black Zeppelin daughter and 3 black females bred to Zeppelin; as well as a female bred to him from another farm. Watch for those kids in their show string in 2014/2015. Zeppelin has 110 cria on the ground so far, and he is throwing a lot of black. From black based dams his current total is: – From 9 TB dams he has thrown 4 TB, 1 DSG, 3 BB, and 1 DF cria. – From 2 BB dams he threw 1 BB and 1 LF cria. – From 4 Silver greys (black base) he threw 3 TB and 1 MB. From light colors he often darkens the dam. – From 8 whites, he has yet to throw a white, with some beiges and even a TB – From 6 fawns, he has thrown a variety of colors, including DRG But regardless of color, with Zeppelin it’s ALL about the fleece quality. Zeppelin's Lineage: Zeppelin is prepotent for that fine fleece with gorgeous character. His dad, PHA Peruvian Taos, a stunning Legacy son, had a 22.9 AFD at 7 yrs. Zeppelin’s mom tested at 21.3 AFD at 7 years as well. Zeppelin also offers correct conformation, impressive presence, size, coverage, and substance of bone. His crimp, luster and dense lock structure are stunning and his staple length is extreme. Zeppelin is the big guy in the pasture that look s like a million bucks - he really is an impressive stud at his prime. Zeppelin is full Peruvian and 3/8 Accoyo.

Toni is a lovely lady with black markings on her nose and face. Toni's fleece is fine for a brown Alpaca and has a very consistent handle - hard to keep your fingers out of her fleece. We were so happy to acquire Toni and her Stargazer bloodlines and the potential for that fine fiber to continue into maturity. Toni is bred by BMF Taos' Zeppelin for a summer 2016 cria. Tony's first cria was a True Black Zeppelin son- and he is spectacular, PrairieMoon Zeppelin's Rock Solid. We liked this combination the first time and are thinking another rock star is in Toni's future. Rock Solid is a strong sturdy male who stands tall and proud. Fiber Stats: 2014 - AFD 16.6, SD 3.3, CV 19.7% and %>30 .6 (at 2)

Description

Rock Solid is the first thing I thought when I saw PrairieMoon Zeppelin's Rock Solid hit the ground. As he has grown, my initial opinion has only become stronger - exceptionally fine silky fleece that glows, true black with no color contamination or fading and with a sturdy body and stance he is a great looking male. With those Zeppelin genetics and Mom's fine fleece this little guy should have a busy breeding career. And - - - - he has the attitude to carry it off.
