Congratulations to Larry and Darla Goodrich on the purchase of Katana. Katana is perhaps our most promising alpaca of the 2010 group. His conformation is second to none. This boy has very strong bone, proportion, and holds himself like he knows it to be true. Katana means sword in Japanese, and from the start he stood straight and proud. Katana's fleece is very bright and consistent with a medium frequency high amplitude crimp style. It is extremely uniform, fine, and organized. All these attributes come together in giving Katana a very pleasant handle with buttery fleece. Needless to say, we were very proud when Katana took FIRST PLACE in the True Black Juveniles class at GWAS, a level V show. Katana is a Misty Ridge Altair's Samaurai boy. A judge said of Samaurais fleece: “I could handle this fleece all day, incredibly bright, beautiful density. This is what we as an industry need to be breeding for”. And the latest: Katana takes blue AGAIN at the National Western Stock Show ...and the COLOR RESERVE! Good job Katana! The judge said he had fleece that was inky black that was incredible to handle. Katana started his breeding career in the spring of 2013. If you want to bring incredible conformation and low micron to your herd, give us a call. Katana has some fantastic cria from his 2013 breedings. We used his service for 2014 and had spectacular results. Call now for reservations.

Congratulations to Larry & Darla Goodrich for purchasing Makeda. Makeda is one of our foundation girls. Her fleece is perhaps the most dense fleece on our entire farm. Not only is Makeda's fleece very dense but it is very fine, and has well-defined, uniform, high frequency zipper style crimp with excellent staple length. Her 2010 micron came out at 17.5! Makeda is also a well-conformed animal, with stovepipe legs, and an attractive phenotype. Makeda delivered a Medium fawn girl from Bravado on September 7th. She has tight crimpy staples with great conformation. We named her Bravada, check out this blue ribbon winner and highest scoring light in MOPACA Spin off 2016. We have bred Makeda to Katana to see if we can bring out the true black in her. Well I guess we did. Makeda delivered a beautiful bay black girl on June 5, 2014. We named her Prairie Princess. She's a beauty!

Description

Congratulations to Larry & Darla Goodrich on the purchase of Prairie Princess. This little girl is always striking a pose. It's no wonder, as both Dam and Sire are striking alpacas. Makeda is from Queen of Sheba a true black, whose sire was Black Magic. Katana is from Altairs Samaurai, so how could we go wrong with this breeding? She is very inquisitive and always on the go. Which means I can't catch her! Come take a took at her, she's a beauty!
